I know there are some negative reviews about this game, but I feel people aren't giving this game its due. Please remember it's in Alpaha still. Considering that, it is still amazing. Much of the work has gone into The Ascendancy(SP?). You start with 7 hearthlings in your group to found your new home. To gain more you must meet set amounts in food, morale, and net worth. Each of these can be done easily enough. You generaly meet morale unless you just don't do anythng for your hearthlings, like building beds to sleep in or chairs and tables for them to eat at or growing them at food. Food can be attained right away from berry bushes until you can make a farmer's hoe to promote a hearthling to farmer to grow food yourself. And net worth comes from building things like a shared sleeping quarters, dining hall, roads, or designing your own buildings. On day ten you'll be approached by a royal herald who will give you a quest to become a township. If you complete this quest you get tier 2 building materials.

This game has entertained me for almost 200 hours already. My friends and I have to take turns using my PC just to play Stonehearth. At this time No Man's Sky is coming in second place to this game. We enjoy this so much.

Many of the featurs of this game are unique. I have never played a game that allows me to manage, but not micro-manage. I give general commanda and the hearthlings live them out. It's a simulation game for a village. You build the village/town, but the hearthlings do it in their own way. You also have footmen/knights/archers/clerics to defend you town. Their are craftsmen of all sorts. It's an intricate system.

Please get in on the ground floor and watch this game grow. This game will be huge, and it will be such an amazing release one of these days. Trust me.

I recently picked this up after eyeballing it for a while. I am so glad I did. It's a great fantasy management game. I am looking forward to new features in dev to see how the game will be expanded, but as it is, I think it is definitely worth your time if you're curious. The 8-bit style keeps it very whimsical and nostalgic. The only caution I can give is that if you are not a patient person, perhaps this isn't the game for you.
