A very charming and enjoyable game with a lovely aesthetic.
The killing blow for me is the crashes. It repeatedly crashes, sometimes on startup requiring multiple starts to get to the menu. It crashes on loading a game frequently too. Not to mention the crashing in game.
I'll give this some more time but it's getting close to just giving up in frustration.

It's charming and pleasing to look at. And has that lighthearted feeling that i've grown accustomed to while playing Trine.
But this game, though quite short for a single play through, is repetitive with little changing but scenery and resistances of the enemies.
I don't recommend playing this as a single player game, which is how i reviewed it. If you are a little relaxed fun with low consequences for failure as a multiplayer, this might be a good buy.
but for solo play, you can find a lot better.

Quirky management game where you try so very, very hard to keep borderline suicidal dupes from dying.

Absolutely fantastic game.
The gameplay is fun and engaging. You are going to generally struggle with every new area you come to. The bosses have themes based on their regions but each is different enough to present their own problems the first time you face them.
The characters have enough difference in play style that it stays fresh even redoing the same dungeons a few times. Couple that with the rogue-like nature generating regions means it doesn't get old too quickly.
The story is interesting and has you engaged. The way it shows you little bits of story and progression between the runs is fantastic. So even with a bad run getting nearly nothing done in the early game feels less disappointing. The narrator does a great job considering his is the only voice you will hear. Depicting a wide range of emotions and setting many scenes.
Finally, the visuals. Gorgeous. I don't think i have ever seen pixel art done this beautifully. The range of expressions depicted was incredible. The movements fluid. The little animations in the short clips were so well done. The scenery at the start captivates you. Incredibly well done.

Difficult to describe for me.
The fights are fairly fun. But not the main reason to play this. It's a somewhat mixture between real-time and turn-based which you eventually get used to. The turn-based stuff isn't anything puzzle worthy in complexity while the real-time is slow and frustrating at times.
So why is the game good? The atmosphere. The music and sound. The story luring you along with some eerie and sinister plot which is not only unfolding before you, but getting worse than anyone could imagine. The morbid monologue of the Transistor. The little stories which unfold. The backstory of the city itself and how it functions.
Not to forget the impressive way you can combine abilities and skills making custom effects.
And lastly, the visuals. Gorgeous. Eerie.

Everything you have ever wanted in a single player Fist-Pistol-Shotgun kinda game. None of this crappy cover based shooting. Nothing political at all. And no micro-transactions to speak about.
Yeah, this is as good as an FPS game gets. Gory, brutal, nasty and straight-forward.
Loved it from start to finish.

Short but absolutely sweet,
I have not laughed this much playing a game... possibly ever.
Since it is so cheap, and so short, you do have the time and money for this.

Lovecraftian, side-scrolling, squad-based RPG.
Absolutely beautiful game with, personally, the best narration in any game i have ever played.
It is difficult, unforgiving and incredibly rewarding.

Tried this game because it was on special and you could play it free for a few days. It took longer to download, install and update than what i played.
I suppose i was looking for something like Skyrim or Oblivion. But of course not. It's an MMO. And thus comes with all the failings and trappings of those games. I have personally never enjoyed them for the most part.
I wasn't far in. Pushing into my first dungeon. Taking it slow, using the skills. Feeling my way through the latency. Then some dude runs through, smashing everything in sight. He did not explore the cave at all. He did not enjoy the how the area was put together and made. I will assume that this is not his first play through. Which is great for him but by God, what was the point of me being there?
No, these games are clearly made for other people. If you dislike MMOs, I would recommend you stay away from this. Even though it's set in the Elder Scrolls universe.

A mostly mindless game of a few rounds where you battle enemies in small arenas. Basically no story, little diversity of enemies and incredibly short. The action itself isn't great either.
What redeems the game is the price. Though honestly there are much better games for the price out there.
