No. This is a mess.
There are many issues with the game. The length of the excursion, the random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that ruins the party, the deathblow resistance of bosses (a boss resisting deathblows 4 hits in a row is not fun).
I love rogue-likes and DD1 is one of my most played games of all time. I was very excited to play this as it is a merger of two of my favourite things.
I don't want a rehashing of the first game. I did want something new. But this needs a lot of work. A lot of balancing. In DD1, a lost run felt bad but you blamed yourself. You learnt from it. This game feels like it twists the knife and you have little control. At least at the start.
