Definitely not making a review just to meet the requirements of the Steam Autumn Sale 2022. But if I was, then this would be nominated on something meaning I think it's good.

I think it's good.

TL;DR - Save your time/money and play something else.

It's not a clicker game, it's just an idle game. Both are pretty bad, but at least know what you're getting into. The game is really simple, and there's not terrible progression, but it does have a system to make money (hence "free" to play) but there's better things to spend your money on. The game is also buggy, with the trader not making some deals (stealing your resources and giving you nothing) and I've read some other users have experienced other issues.

Put the game on easiest, to get use to controls.

Built a base that was thriving, with 4 villagers comfortably living in relative peace and tranquility. Started to store energy for use of electric appliances and heaters, built a battery room out of limestone to prevent fire. Electrical conduit explodes inside my base, my very wooden, very flammable base. No one survived, as their lungs filled with super heated air.

Before last settler dies, enter in mysterious stranger in black coat. Puts out fire with help of rain, tries to save last villager, fails (as won't do medical jobs). Tries to rebuild base, slowly starves as won't cook or plant. Eats animals, who died long ago from starvation.

10/10 would burn my whole base down again.

Came for Tacos, stayed for ma.

The game isn't as deep or mysterious as others, such as Portal, but there's enough here to keep you interested. The way you follow each story line is also interesting and believable, even if the cast is a little straightforward. The most interesting story is you the player, but I feel all of this is never really flushed out. Maybe I missed something.

*Edit: While the maker has released a few fixes since this update, the game remains largely unfinished/unpolished. They're now also planning on releasing a, "sequel" that looks basically like a reskin of the game, using a lot of the same assets and code. If this is the case, then for shame. It looks clear the developer is only in it for the money and doesn't care about its player base. Buyers beware.*

Good in theory, but definitely unfinished. The game has lots of bugs, from minor character glitches (ie, horse running backwards) to more moderate annoyances (my character can no longer auto run, meaning it's a pain to get anywhere).

What is here is good though. And while I wouldn't recommend it for $34.99 CDN, if the developers gave it some more love I could see it be worth it. Scaling, the game is very grindy (as others have mentioned). It's less of a farming game and more of a, "Build a workshop and then a billion other requests" game, which is disappointing as it does get boring. I gave up when it asked me to build sprinklers for the farm; there was only so far that I could walk before it became more of a chore. The world is huge, which a lot of people would say is a good thing, but it's pretty empty and for what is populated there's no reason to explore or go there. If they shrunk the size down for the open areas, dialed down the amount of components needed for crafting, made the currency scale correctly, and reworked the skill tree, then it may become fun again.

I don't play this game anymore because my girlfriend broke up with me citing, and I quote, "You don't spend time with me anymore."
Terrible, so selfish; I renamed my wife in the game after her!

*Edit* Seriously, stop updating this game. This has now broken up 3 relationships. Everytime I end up thinking I'm finished the publisher adds another 100 billion new things. This is getting ridiculous, it's just one person!! For the love of my personal life and relationships, just please stop. Start making Stardew Valley 2, or a slew of mini-DLC that I can ignore, this madness must end.

Stanley stood at his computer, fingers over the keys, wondering what he would type for the review of this game. Sure, it was good fun, and the voice acting was spot on (even if it was just a single voice actor), but was it worth the initial investment?

Stanley decided, "Yes" and typed out a review that was so good that the few who saw it would be sure to find it helpful. Or, at the very least, glance past it as they scrolled through a social media dating app on their phone.

9/10

Amazing game, always being updated, it's worth your investment. It's similar to a Sim city type of game, but adds a level of difficulty and management that after hours of gameplay I still haven't mastered. You will have your village die out, and you will think you understood why, yet attempt after attempt will only meet with more death and more understanding. My only qualm about this game is that the difficulty is a bit off; I find that if I go on a hard difficulty I do better.

The Anno series is like freemium games, pushing you to build one more thing and then you think you're set, only to realize you need another thing, rinse and repeat. Anno 2070, unlike the past Anno games I played, adds a plot and even more crazy stuff you need to procure. While pacing sometimes comes into question, if you like Sim City but enjoy a slower pace, or just sinking hours upon hours of nothingness, then this is the game for you. After all that, in a weird way, I kinda like it.

Early Access Review
Terrible game. No tutorial or even challange. I played a few hours and thought, "I guess they'll just add stuff later." No such luck. Don't buy it, you'll be wanting a refund like me if you do.
