Campaign is good, but nothing that special. The online is riddled with microtransactions and the progression is such a disgusting grind.

I don't want to grind 100+ hours to get a deck that I want right now.

Great community and customization

Game is very atmospheric & incredibly immersive.

Things that need to change:

1) Physical crouching needs to be a thing.
2) So many eating/drinking bugs that prevent me from healing/saving the game make this experience unplayable
3) I wish the 'days' in-game were a little longer.

Playing casually with friends against bots, it's very fun.

The negative reviews are more for the old version of Last Year rather than this current version. The develpment team used to be super silent regarding the future of the game when it was in development. But now, a new development team purchased the IP, have pushed balancing updates, made the game free to play, with promises of future content. Even without future content, balance patches and free to play immediately deserve a positive review.

There's a huge amount of customization in this game, a lot of characters to choose from, & variety of play styles for survivors and killers.

The game play & uniqueness of the killers is something Dead by Daylight could never bring (DBD = M1 simulator). Not to mention, free DLC chapters for the coming future.

The thing this game needs is -
1) Dedicated servers
2) A larger player base
3) More killers/survivors/maps
4) Some bug fixes

No audio on videos.

This game is absolute comedy.

Overview: Granted I'm only on the third chapter. The game looks beautiful and plays as you would expect a walking sim game would. It's extremely linear. I remember in some trailer for the game "How you play the game changes your ending". It's too linear to have an impact on your ending - even in sequences where the game tells you that you have a choice to make, it will force you to make the correct decision.

Horror/Soundtrack: Regarding the horror aspect of the game - it fails to build tension in any meaningful way. Sure the soundtrack is decent, but the tension you should feel in a horror game is absent. The 'scares' in the game are painfully boring. They're Insidious level annoying and wear thin quickly. - *predictable loud 'scary' noise*

Summary: The first Layers of Fear had a decent story because it was about an artist slowly going mad. This game is about an actor on a ship whom you don't really care for because you know little to nothing of his backstory. The story is fairly boring & I'm struggling to keep interest in the game. The characters you hear throughout the game or read letters from, are boring 2-dimensional cardboard cutouts. I wish I could give a neutral review because if you're a casual player, or enjoy cheap jump-scares in moves or games, you would probably enjoy Layers of Fear 2 (nothing wrong with that). But it's too bland & surface level for me to give it a positive review. I'll probably update the review when I eventually finish the game.
