The whining is Nicki's cries and moans of pain. Nicki's just wishing Nicki had a better life. Generally, people tend to treat their Nicki's with more appraise when they notice this happening. Some people try:

-dressing Nicki in comfortable yet fashionable clothes
-taking Nicki to the groomers at least once a month for a fashionable new style
-ask the Nicki what their favourite colour is and dye it's fur of that colour
-carrying it close to you is helpful because then the Nicki will feel more loved.

Some people like to carry their Nicki around everywhere, or put them in purses so that the Nicki can understand you truly care about Nicki.
