Let me preface this with a few things.

1, I got the game for free, but everyone who knows me knows well that that doesn't sway my reviews or feedback for games or developers.
2, people giving "Negative reviews" solely based on the lack of endgame content in an early access title is a bit meh. If you don't want to support a games development and journey then don't buy it in EA that's really that simple. Wait till Full release because all you are doing is hurting the games visibility by judging it for being an EA when that's what you literally just signed up for.

3, I think the games got alot of promise, The tilt mechanic and weight / drag system is pretty awesome and I think that could be expanded on in alot of cool ways. Getting started in the game can be a bit wonky when you first load in but it's pretty easy to pick up and start figuring out as you go.

Honestly I think it has quite alot of promise as a game and my only real gripe in general is the obnoxious noises the NPCs make when you speak to them.

As someone with Autism and sensitivity to certain types of noise and sounds it can be a bit overwhelming.

That being said I think the games easily worth picking up and hanging out just vibing on if you want something mostly casual.

I LOVED the original iteration of the game.

But honestly it's gone to S%*^

the new DLC is so bad it hurts my brain. Progression is gatekept which is incredibly frustrating.

ZERO new lore.

ZERO updates to the base game

ZERO reason to go through the new gate keeping mechanic they have added to quartz to stop you being able to progress until you've hit fish stage .

The new map has no lore, is smaller than the first. is the most buggy thing i've ever seen in my life and you can either A, skyrim horse your way up ANY slanted surface and if that's not good enough to get where you wanna go just spam the "F4" button (or whatever you bind as UNSTUCK)

and not only can you glitch through ANYTHING in the game but you can use it to fly wherever you wanna fly to.

it's SO BAD that you can macro a key to spam it for you and fly around or even hit the button 100 times per click and literally launch yourself into orbit.

To call the base game 1.0 is kind of a joke honestly but to release a DLC without fixing ANY of the existing bugs and crappy texture blending is insane.

ALSO don't ever build your base on the sand north of spawn I won't spoil why but trust me when I say you will absolutely regret it later in the game because you're access to your base without that aforementioned F4 bug will likely be restricted.

All of that said I REALLY wanted to love this game and I do in fact love the concept of the game but I can't reccomend it at this time. Not untill they take some of the money they made from the 1.0 release and actually make the game mechanics and everything good.

And remove that gate keeping bullS@#$ they put on quartz just to waste players time and try to keep them playing longer.

NO ONE likes to have their time wasted.

Also the unlocks are in some crazy wacky order and alot of things are useless when they initially unlock like the butterfly dome. completely useless untill you find larva which doesn't unlock until AFTER the dome.

Good job Showing Sony what Democracy is boys. Let not the tyrant push out our Battle buddies from other countries!

As the number one player of this game in the entire world. I have decided. It's fun.

I'm just really curious why such a simple game needs to run my 3090 ti at 84C. even AAA games don't impact my graphics card like that.

i'm rather impressed at the speed in which the Developer replied to my issue here and decided to look into it so i will swap to a positive review for now as i do enjoy the game itself and i think it has potential.

i run the following system.

i9-12900k
Zotac 3090 TI
94 gigs ddr5
and a ROG strix Z690-e motherboard
also running on windows 11.

if that helps you to look into the graphics card temp issue.

i was running at 82-84C which is pretty hot for what the game is. also running in 2560 by 1440 at 144 mhz

one of my favorite games ever. takes alot of brains and planning to pull everything off

it's a very simple game thats fun to goof off on with your friends
