I've spent so much time with this game as a kid that it's basically like a third parent to me.

The atmosphere and aesthetics of this game is something truly unique and it pulls me in even 30 years after release. Add one of the best soundtracks in any video game ever, brilliant level design and tight gameplay and you get a timeless classic, almost every FPS game made since Quake feels like a cheap copy.

A one of a kind game heavily inspired by The Thing. Keep in mind it is rather short, but I found the length to be perfectly suited to the content. The only way to make it longer would be to make it harder, and I'm not sure if this is the kind of game you want to lose a lot at, since the controls are rather imprecise.

This game looks absolutely stunning in motion, and is a very solid metroidvania on top of that, one of the best I've played.

A very solid card/boardgame with beautiful graphics. The learning curve can be a little steep, especially since in the beginning you need to grind to build better decks, but you can still have a lot of fun when playing at lower levels.

The music is terrible, the pixel art is terrible, the jokes are terrible and the gameplay consists of clicking everything until something works. I'll never understand how anyone can like this.

A great little gem. The game is beatiful in motion, the idea and execution are spot on. Could use some more variety though, there are some puzzle levels but it could use more of them and add more additional mechanics to the puzzles.

Shadowrun Returns, the previous game in the series, didn't leave a strong impression on me. The combat was mediocre, the character building very limited, role playing insignificant and the overall game was forgetable.

Still decided to give Dragonfall a try and I'm really glad I did. Combat and character building are left pretty much unchanged but MY GOD THE WRITING. The dialogue, the characters, the side plots, the missions and the choices you face, it got me hooked.

It's not the type of a free-roaming RPG I'm used to (like the recent Wasteland 2 for example), there isn't much exploration or enviromental usage of skills and even though there are side quests and separate plot lines, the game is still pretty linear. But you can be sure that when the game presents you with a choice it will be a significant and satisfying one, and the multitude of dialogue options makes it a truly role playing experience, even though the difference between your replies is often cosmetic.

If you enjoy dialogue-rich games, definitely try this one.

I played quite a lot of the original Crimsonland and while the updated graphics and new perks are appreciated, for me the main reason to play was always the survival mode. And in this revamped version it just isn't that much fun because the usual game lasts only around 6 level-ups. This is not enough to work towards any consistent perk+weapon set-up. In the original you could always try new combinations and you felt like they really mattered, but here? After reaching level 6 or 7 I am always overwhelmed no matter what I try and my only hope is to keep on hitting power-ups like plasma overload or fire bullets.
This is another problem, fire bullets used to enhance the weapon you use but now they are almost like a weapon of their own. The same goes for the plasma power-up that is new. This means that in the end it doesn't matter much which weapon you use, because it will soon be too weak anyway and your only hope are the power-ups that replace your weapon.
The Quests felt like good old Crimsonland (once I enabled perks in the menu) but the Survival mode is really inferior to the original one.

The more demanding puzzles were the best I've ever seen in a video game. They were never frustrating, I didn't feel the need to search for hints online and yet there's no hand holding involved and it really felt like an accomplishment to solve them.

The game is really well written, the relationships and interactions are simple but feel genuine. The atmosphere is unique, creepy and weird, in the best of ways.

I recommend this game to everyone, not only to point & click fans, I enjoy it despite not liking this genre much.
