Early Access Review
Ever wanted to play a farming sim with a hint of constant fear for encroaching potential death to your beloved village members? Well even if you haven't, fans of Stardew Valley, Fields of Mistria, and/or other similar games will likely love this game.
Gameplay loop is mostly the same as other farming sims. The BIG exception is that you must keep the village food storage filled with enough food to keep EVERYONE in the village from starving. You will be faced with various perils that directly impact your capability to provide for the village that can be resolved through various projects. Failing to complete these projects in a timely manner will result in consequences to the village, including villagers potentially dying.
Somehow I managed to make it through all the early access content (1 in-game year) without failing any of the projects or having too little food for the village. By the time winter hit I was *panicking*. It only gets harder as time goes on.
This game takes the popular genre and completely flips it from it's warm and cozy roots into something dreadful in the best way possible.

I'm a nearly 30-year-old man playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure until past 4 am for 4 days in a row.

F*** it, the world's on fire, who gives a s*** anymore.

It is entirely possible to finish the main story of this game and 100% it in the process within 2 hours and request a refund. I'm choosing not to request that.

This game isn't anything mind-blowing, but there is definitely a lot of passion and hard work put into it. You play a man who examines the schedules and lifestyles of multiple potential targets in order to deduce the one he believes he is supposed to sacrifice to a malicious god that threatens to destroy the world. Upon doing so, you use the information you've gathered in order to correctly complete the sacrificial ritual. Rinse and repeat.

That premise alone is interesting and the gameplay loop is actually pretty challenging. But honestly, what I really appreciated the most was the voice acting. There are only two speaking characters; the protagonist and his unfortunate captive. In spite of there only being these two very limited speaking roles, the voice actors held absolutely nothing back in bringing them to life. Especially in the scene preceding the final main story sacrifice.

So yeah, I'd say 15 bucks well-spent. I'm not gonna keep playing it, but it will stay in my library out of appreciation for what was created.

Stardew Valley for old school weebs

Do you like farming sims akin to Stardew Valley? Do you like the aesthetic of 90s anime?

If your answer to both of those questions is "yes," you are going to love this game. At this point, I've gone to the last floor of the mines (dungeon) that is accessible in early access and I've nearly completed my first year. This has taken nearly 30 hours. And the game isn't even finished yet.

Each character has their own unique personality and fleshed out backstory. The advancement of skills and the different perks you can unlock in each of them keeps the gameplay fresh as you continue through it. It's just simple and cozy enough to let you kick back and relax without being boring. Once I boot this game up, it's what I'm playing for the rest of the night.

And again, the game isn't even finished yet.

Pick up this game NOW if you haven't already. Or if you're the kind of person that doesn't buy early access, at least put it on your wishlist. There is so much love and heart put into this and I can't wait to see the finished product.

A neat, albeit somewhat short, little horror game for those that enjoy the classic style of the original Resident Evil and/or Silent Hill. Well-done combat, smart, but not frustrating, puzzles, and an interesting story with a nice narrative twist at the end. A very solid 8/10.

Early Access Review
I can say with absolute certainty this game will be amazing when it is fully released. It already plays so well even in early access. The story is super intriguing, the combat (while not without its quirks) is fluid and enjoyable, and it holds so much promise for what is to come. There are so many different ways everything can play out, creating a whole new narrative with each decision.

Full release could not come soon enough, but I know the wait will be worth it.

This game has a lot of potential that so far has been completely squandered. The idea of a Vermentide-like D&D game sounds absolutely amazing. What we got was a half-baked attempt to capitalize on a title name for the obvious sake of quick sales. Combat is repetitive and boring. You can just spam the attack buttons while periodically dodging and be fine. Enemy AI is a joke considering they will literally just stand around and wait if you walk away from them mid-combat. There are glitches abound, as I completed one mission and my character gained 0 xp. Whoever decided to release this as is should be ashamed. Do better.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this so far. While it's somewhat fun to play, I can't help but feel it's a bit clunky and that players aren't getting everything that advertising made this out to be. The combat is a little wonky (you can honestly just mash the main attack button and get the job done), the customization isn't as expansive as it was made out to be (you have your basic good-to-evil "karma" system that unlocks certain psi abilities and story branches, with nothing that allows you to really stay in the middle without sacrificing potential abilities), and the pace is suuuuuuper slow. My whole first 2.5 hours of playing has mainly just been listening to the narrator's exposition when I really just want to explore and *play the game.* I'm not gonna ask for a refund and I will keep playing for now, because I do have hope that with further development this will be something great. But as of now, it just feels unfinished and I can't recommend anyone else get it at this time.

Don't let us down, THQ. I and many others have been waiting years for this

What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said before?
This is hands down the best rogue-like I've played. Definitely one the best games I've played, period.
I immediately started sinking whole days into playing this. Slick gameplay, amazing visuals, just... GAWD, this game.
Play it.

Showing that video games have been "political" since the early 2000s, but nobody hated that until for some reason being a woman-hating white supremacist became acceptable.

Run around as a half-vampire chick and massacre a bunch of monsters and Nazis. Good ol' American fun
