The game itself is one of the better I have played in recent years, on the level of Baldur's Gate 3. There is a variety of weapons and other tools one can use to take out either Terminids (bugs) or Automatons (bots), and a mix of environments that will affect your and the enemy's ability to fight. There have been some issues with various things like game crashes and other serious bugs, though many of them have been worked out since release. The devs have, and are still, putting in herculean efforts to make the game even better than it already is. It's been a good time, and it has taken up many of the free hours I've had since I got the game in early March.

I wish I could end my review there. However, I cannot. Sony's management of the delayed PSN account integration has meant that people have been able to buy the game off Steam in countries and regions where they aren't allowed to have a PSN account because it isn't available there. The game has been delisted from the Steam store since about a week, although the requirement of linking has been dropped. People here on Steam who have the license for the game already from those regions can still download and play the game, but until Sony decide to remove the regional restrictions on the game, it isn't coming back for others living there who want it.

This cannot stand. We dive together, or not at all. This is the unity of the strong community Arrowhead's game has created, and we will not back down until we get our way. The first battle may be won, though the war is not over. This is why I do not recommend Helldivers 2, for now.

If you like Pinball and want to go beyond just trying not to lose the ball and actually go ahead and learn how to score properly on some tables, Pinball Arcade is a good place to look. Sure, the physics may be a bit off and perhaps even frame rate dependent in that they slow down if your machine can't run the simulations fast enough but it gets pretty close at any rate.

Some of the DLC packs are definitely not cheap but in the end, considering you can play them as much as you like, it's probably going to end up being worth your money.
