Rough launch. Horrible Monetization. Pause feature being added season two according to road map. I don't know how they already made this game twice and yet this one is such a bummer. Buy it in a year when they inevitably release the "legendary" edition with a bunch of teams bundled in.

This game was delayed before covid, and came out AFTER covid, and barely feels like it has even half of the functionality or features of Bloodbowl 2. What were they doing in that time?

Though much like Darktide this game will be carried exclusively because the actual gameplay is good, when it isn't mired by bugs that crash the game constantly.

Bad launch. Bad Monetization strategy. Bad Company. But good game.

Wastelanders is certainly an improvement over launch but fo76 has a long way to come before it's worth a positive review. Bethesda should be held to a higher standard and definitely don't deserve a pass just because they gussied up their most recent pile of bugs with a fresh coat of paint and TLC. Balance is still wonky. Quest quality is all over the place. Fallout 1st is a total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ move. The game remains enjoyable if you're willing to grit your teeth and trudge through all the typical mistakes of a bethesda game plus the added volatility of network play. But games need to be more than just "fun" to get a pass nowadays. All games should be fun as a baseline requirement, not as a cool "feature". Gunplay is mediocre, looting is unsatisfying, a large portion of the content is grindy repeatable event/daily style radiant quests that only serve to keep people coming back for dripfeed content. Building is a nightmare of resource management with a fixed stash size and a building "allowance" for your base that's VERY restrictive. Much of the game is timegated, you can only gain so much caps per day from vendors for instance. Recipes and endgame materials are prohibitively expensive as to force you to basically sit on your hands and wait for new days of fresh vendor caps to afford them. The gameplay and mechanics don't feel suited to a multiplayer world at all, and all of these issues are completely standalone compared to the terrible community interaction and general apathy from bethesda that lead to basically every scandal involving the game.

I paid 20 bucks for this game, and have hundreds of hours on the beth.net launcher. It's still not worth that price.

I've played my fair share of base-building survival/management games and ONI scratches the itch like no other. Adorable graphics and animations coupled with very interesting and enticing mechanics related to heat and the gas/liquid system. Considering it's price and how many hours I've squeezed out of it it's absolutely worth every penny. It sits in my library among other "just 5 more minutes" style games like civilization and heroes of might and magic.

I enjoy drinking booze. I enjoy killing bugs. I enjoy killing bugs with my friends. This game is simple and fun, It scratches the L4D/Vermintide 4-Player Coop FPS itch. A game where the pure gameplay is the draw, and not an endless treadmill of progression or cosmetics. A game where you can play one or two matches casually, or spend a whole night playing the highest difficulty + deep dives. It really easily fits into my schedule and I never step away feeling dissatisfied. This one is really good, chief.
