The game is divided into two modes, one like Battlefield and one an Extraction mode like Tarkov.

I came to play the extraction mode I heard about looking for a COD DMZ replacement, but it was too much like Tarkov and I don't enjoy just playing a 90% inventory management game, so it was an instant turn off.

Instead I spent most of my time in the Battlefield mode. It's a replica of BF2042 for the most part with the operators, but almost everything is worse. The only improvement they added is leaning. The ground vehicles get stuck on everything and you have to abandon them. The helicopters? Don't bother they aren't maneuverable and you will eventually just crash upside-down even if you are a veteran flyer from BF. There aren't any jets. To top it off, the world is not destructible at all.

What is even the point of this game? You'd have to be crazy to clone the BF2042 model after the stinker that it was. Let alone do it even worse in most ways.

Fun game, never played the original.

But my god, please fix the bugs, the UNIT PATHING and the SHIFT QUEUEING is SO BAD.

I tried to do the campaign at least, but it's unplayable right now if you value your sanity.

I'll update the review when you fix this.

Early Access Review
I don't really like the art style, but mechanics are king.

The 1v1 has promise. They've already added a lot of new stuff since founders-only alpha.

A lot more work needs to be done in all categories.

Let's give them the benefit of the doubt and see if they can pull it off.

Give it time, wait and see. I will try it again after 1.0, or when I hear things are coming together.

Amazing RTS with much more advanced macro mechanics than Starcraft. Beautiful visuals and new civilizations are becoming more interesting and varied.

Balance has gotten better, especially with naval combat being redesigned. New features are great as well - finally the minimap that can be made larger, and the new FFA mode is endless hours of fun.

Unfortunately the game is still plagued by a few annoying bugs, and Relic has been slow to fix things and add content. I really hope they will continue to support the game and add new content to bring more players in. This game deserves a larger playerbase than it has currently, it is the best RTS released since SC2.

Normally I'm not a fan of roguelikes, but this one is amazing. Stayed up all night till I finally beat it. And that's only the beginning of the fun.

After putting about 26 hours into the open beta and 16 hours of the live game.

The Good:

The graphics are amazing, the world is lush and beautiful. It makes me want to explore the whole continent, which I did during the beta and some of the higher level zones are spectacular.

The sound and music are also pleasant.

The weapons are fun to use, very different from many tab-targetting type MMOs and honestly a big step up, the weapon ability customization is a lot of fun and unique compared with other MMOs.

The Bad:

The only thing I got to queue for is logging into the server, but don't worry I'm not going to complain as there are plenty of reviews about that... it just would also be nice to have "good" queues. For dungeons and PvP events. Why do we wait until level 25 for dungeons? Why do we have to wait days for a "war" event and just have someone kick you out because you weren't high enough level? Where are the queues for when I'm tired of running around the world and ready to teleport to a PvP event or dungeon? Is this a game released in 2000 or 2021?

Why is the only good way to PvP as an individual running around the map and praying no one kills you before you can turn in your quests? This is terrible design it actively discourages PvP.

Combat is pretty clunky. Perhaps somewhat related to server lag, but the system feels weird and the movement is not very smooth, it's difficult to hit players. Pretty standard for MMOs I suppose.

Lack of abilities. I mentioned the weapon system is fun to test different builds, but that's literally all there is. 3 usable abilities at most per weapon at a given time, so 6. This is somewhat reminiscent of Diablo 3, as if the game is designed with a future console release in mind, rather than a PC game. Perhaps gear and abilities will become more interesting in the endgame with various item affixes. But at a glance, the ability system feels fun to experiment with, but I suspect by endgame it would lack much diversity between player classes and abilities.

Why is there player controlled taxation/wars? Praise be to our Amazon high council and Bezos in space.

Generic/boring quests and storyline (so far). I'll hold back a bit here since I haven't been through to endgame, but I don't know who they have writing the dialogue but it's quite terrible. Fight the "corrupted" and choose a boring and generic faction, seems to be the gameplay loop in a nutshell. Quite bland.

Lots of running. This is good and bad as I mentioned the world is beautiful and fun to explore. But fast travel is a very non-interactive way for players to get around, and frankly should not be in the game (or very limited in capacity, such as only to return to the inn). Quests should be progressed as soon as they are completed, as is done in virtually all other modern MMOs. You shouldn't have to run back to the quest giver, this is a very dated mechanic and frankly was surprised at how this occurred in virtually 100% of quests. Where are the mounts? Where is the public transportation system? WE NEED BETTER INTERACTION, WALKING AN ULTRA MARATHON OR TELEPORTING AROUND EVERY TIME YOU PLAY IS NOT THE SOLUTION. Proxy chat exists (called: area?) but is cumbersome to engage with all the different chat channels, and isn't obvious enough when nearby players are trying to communicate. The only good interaction I've seen is with faction chat.

Maybe if you are part of a giant community or group you can steamroll and have fun crushing all the little guys. But if you are playing alone or with a small group of friends, skip this one. Hell, you can't even choose your starting location so playing with someone from the beginning is also a huge pain.

Fun take on BR. Good combat, decently balanced, beautiful graphics. Looking forward to more, hope the community grows and they take the game in the right direction - by focusing on new content, balance, and game design instead of micro-transactions and cosmetics.

Thought I was getting tired of BR games, but it turns out of I was just tired of the same old FPS games.

Been playing for a couple months now, nice to see I can finally install on Steam, and remove yet another pesky client from my windows taskbar :P

I came from Hearthstone, after years of spending way too much money on that, I was getting bored and looking for something new. If you are looking for a new card game look no further. It's the most F2P friendly game I've encountered, and has the most beautiful artwork and visuals. Gameplay is interesting and reminiscent of Witcher 3 Gwent; two rows and best of 3 rounds. Minions don't fight, but there is still plenty of interaction with keywords and spells. More variety than hearthstone as well when it comes to hero powers, each of the 6 classes has a choice of 7 unique leader abilities! Can't recommend enough and I really don't understand why this game isn't more popular. Hopefully more will discover it!
