I wish I liked this game more, the hard difficulty setting is just frustrating, unlike souls games, it doesn't feel rewarding.
But the story and art style was good enough to keep me going.

The story is really good, the art style is one of the best and most unique I have seen till now. the close up combat was looking so good, I wish the whole game was a little more zoomed in.

I wish I had chosen a lower difficulty, that way I'd have enjoyed the story a lot more.

The combat is just extremely basic, it just has 2 facets, Hit and Parry. There are like 3 enemy types whose moveset is very easy to understand and once you get a good combo, it's just parry and combo.

When I was playing on the Bushido (medium) difficulty setting, I was enjoying it till the moment enemies armed with guns came in, it's very difficult to parry and if you get hit twice, you die. At one scene, I had to finish 4 enemies and 1 gun man and I couldn't just move over to the gunman, I had to finish the 4 enemies while parrying not only them but also the bullets, I somehow killed them and turns out the checkpoint is after 3 such scenarios, it not only got frustrating but also ridiculous considering that I had to fight off the same bunch of enemies with a different backdrop 3 times.

I just couldn't get past them so I lowered the difficulty, then game got way too easy, no challenge but atleast I wasn't frustrated with the combat and could actually enjoy the story.

The story was good enough to want me to finish the game but the frustrating combat made me want to just leave this game midway.

But it was a good experience and feel like it was worth the time and money.

75 hrs on PS5 and 31hrs on PC. Might be the best indie game in all aspects, doesn't feel indie in any way, everything is so polished it feels like a AAA title.

Cannot recommend this game enough.

Amazing game, Love it, although there needs to be a lot of polishing pending but if a game in this state was released today, I wouldn't have thought twice before buying it. It has immense potential and I think that the developers will do justice to the potential that this game has and fulfil it to the max.
Hoping for a lot more content, but even now, the game is worth buying!

I have always been a casual gamer (except for multiplayer fps), never liked challenges in single player games, maybe that's why i never finished one before because it wasn't fun without any challenges, I always took the easy way out whenever it got too hard and that's why when I bought this game, I promised to myself that no matter what, i will complete this game and won't touch another game till I finish this.
Maybe because of this promise, I installed a mod (infinite spirit emblems) after I could not beat the 1st boss. But I still managed to beat almost every other boss (except the demon of hatred) without using prosthetics.
I am proud of myself that I finished this game and enjoyed almost every minute of this game.

Because of this, I have never played any souls like game nor played any game with even 10% of this difficulty. This game reminded me of what it means to get good, I uninstalled this game twice (1st mini boss and owl father), still installed it again the very next day because I wanted to get good.
I had never dreamt that repetitive game like this would be fun, that's the reason i have never played any souls game, because the gameplay itself looked so frustrating, I used to wonder what's there to like it or enjoy.
But now I know, the feeling of beating a mini boss because of which I was stuck in the game for 4hrs straight can never be better. Every boss and mini boss felt like a challenge I wanted to take.

There were some mistakes that i made, which I would like everyone else to avoid-

Dont watch exploration guide on youtube, that ruined the fun of the game for me in end game (last 4-5 hrs). I just watched the exploration guide, did exactly what that guy told me to and had no fun. I did however enjoy watching guides on how to beat bosses because I just could not understand which combat art to use, which prosthetic would be useful etc.

Dont mod the game to make it easier, it is no fun, the fun is in dying again and again till you actually get good and beat the boss, that's the fun. I uninstalled this game twice, didn't play sekiro or any other game for 10 days straight because i was angry and frustrated that i could not beat the boss. But the only mod I used is infinite spirit emblem mod because I used to lose so much money by dying that I could not afford spirit emblems and would in the end make the combat uninteresting and repetitive.

10/10 game, would recommend everyone to play. worth your time.

I have more than 1.5k hours (using different accounts) and more than 1k hrs of just watching rust players on twitch and youtube.
I bought a brand new $2000 pc majorly to play this game once again but to my disappointment, this isn't the game that I used to play.

Reason:
The BP system: You need to have atleast 8-10 hrs per day just to collect the BPs, research them, make workbenches and use them. Working people like me who can atmost give just 3-4 hrs a day have absolutely no chance not only on vanilla servers but also on x2 vanilla. You can try to play on modded srevers but they are mostly pay to win.

The game has become so fastpaced with all the groups roaming around that in just 1 hr, zergs are out rocket raiding while solo and duo players just setup their base. The community is so toxic that they will do just anything to make your life miserable even more.
You just dont enjoy this game 90% of the time.

YET, this game is just like life. You fail 90% of the time but the 10% of the time when you win, the win is so satisfying that it was worth failing 90% of the time. that 10% of winning, that adranaline rush, that high risk of running your whole loot accross the map, that anxiety of getting chased by a group after an hour of farming, these all things just make this game a whole lot better.

But this game will give you anger issues, if you dont set your priorities straight, your life will fall apart. You will never enjoy any other game this much.

Just a suggestion for devs, please make servers available in SEA and moreover make server for working people who cannot devote more than 3-4 hrs a day. My suggestion:-

Make a special server for people where their time limit of max hours per day on a server will be 5 hrs. No one can play more than 5 hrs on that server.
Make scrap collection and BPs x3, resources x2.
Group limit to 4.
Active admins.
As there will be active admins, they can actively ban people who use exploits (like bunker bases).

Thats it. I recommend everyone to play this game given that you find the correct server and who have ♥♥♥♥ ton of time and money to spend.

Better FPS than Call of duty. :p
