I don't have the expertise to explain why this game is good, all I can say is that this game was a wonderful experience. Absolutely gorgeous world, an addicting combat system, a large array of weapons, the best sound track I have ever heard in any game, a fantastic story, etc. I could go on and on rambling about why I love this game so much, but it's something that must be played to be fully appreciated.

I say this without exaggeration, this game is worthy of being called a masterpiece. This game is a labor of love, and it shows. I would not be surprised if in 20 years, NieR: Automata will be looked back upon as era-defining, and one of great importance to shaping future video games. Do yourself a favor, bust open that wallet, get a nice big dose of depression, and enjoy this wild ride.

Quick side note: The PC port is more than playable if you download some external mods to fix stability issues. It's not hard, and there are tons of guides on YouTube explaining the process. The update patch has finally released so this complaint can now be ignored.

If you like Halo, are waiting for Halo MCC to come to PC, and enjoy Top-Down Shooters, Halo: Spartan Assault is for you. It is a nice spin off that follows the missions of Spartan Palmer and Spartan Davis across Draetheus-V. It has a decent story and the game runs smooth, however do not expect to play this game for a long time. If you look at my profile, I was able to 100% the game with about a day of in-game time, but considering the game is $3, even less now (summer sale up as of time writing this review), it is definitely worth picking up.

One thing to note is that this game is grindy with its Assault Ops. Compared to the later released Halo: Spartan Strike, the difficulty is night and day. Assault Ops for those who actually read reviews before buying the game are optional challenges associated with each mission, there is 3 per mission ranging in difficulty from killing 3 grunts with grenades, to killing 20 jackals with an assault rifle that only spawn at the end of the mission surrounded by suicide grunts, requiring multiple playthroughs. Granted, the latter type of Assault Ops do not make up a majority of them, but they do appear enough to notice. Most Assault Ops require you the play each mission more than once though.

Overall, I think the game is worth the price and if you enjoy Halo, it's something to do. The game is a little grindy with certain optional missions, but was a fun experience nonetheless.

Early Access Review
For a game in Early Alpha, it is fantastic. The soundtrack is relaxing and puts you in a great mood as you explore the vast planet you decide to build on. The basic concepts of building tools, gathering resources, and researching various things to unlock more buildable equipment is really fascinating. If the devs keep up the good work, I have a feeling we could be seeing a game that could end up like Minecraft, in that it might actually leave the Alpha phase and become a great game.
