Most of the bad reviews are people experiencing server issues. Over here in NA, on most servers, there is no issue. Was there a lock on servers for a day for new players? sure. But now we have about 24 of our guild friends, all in the same server with no issues.

The game so far is surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I didn't have much hopes for the story. Most MMOs nowadays, with exclusion of games like ff14 and SWTOR, have pretty bad anime-esc stories. But I've heard from many friends that the story actually made them feel something and they were excited to keep going. At the same time, there are many collectibles from the start that anyone who likes to explore will be rewarded with different types like vistas, mokoko seeds, elite mobs and many sidequests. The game is enjoyable as a casual experience, take your time with it.
You can also spend your time just trying out all of the subclasses. There are 15 of them, you get 6 character slots, but since its a free to play game, you can just make a new account until you try them all.
I haven't reach anywhere close to the endgame, I've been taking my time with this one, so ill update my review as I get closer. But so far, since I haven't experienced any server issues, 8.5/10

I think its great, could use a little tweaking but coming from a game like dont starve together. its really enjoyable. Combat is very simple, but its still enjoyable. Most of the negative comments im seeing are people complaining about the microstransactions and game difficulty. The shop only has cosmetics and while some are behind a pay wall, you can earn gold horns to buy others. and the cosmetics are very cheap in the shop, a weapon is basically $2 usd, armor pieces $1. You can mix and match, theres a free battle pass like system that gives plenty of cosmetics and even some coins. The game can be difficult in solo but I dont like easy games. You really have to manage your time and limit your exploring to protect the base.

Gameplay is good. If you want to play a casual game, for a couple of hours, not bad for the price. But here are the things you should know if you want to take this game seriously.

1. For some reason, years after its been released, the game devs are treating this game as a an early access game, always making changes to the meta. Recently they made a change that halfed everyone's damage and blamed it on a "missing line of code". Which brings me to my next point.
2. Updates don't have patch notes until hours after an update goes live. A lot of the changes that people complain about are mostly because the devs aren't transparent with the direction they're taking the game. Sure they seem to be on discord, but then make changes that completely contradict what they've been saying all along. They also have a habit of giving smart ass answers to genuine concerns about patches, doesn't make them look good.
3. Endless amount of bugs and disconnects. Some of these bugs will literally get you banned. They have this auto-ban system that can ban you for just playing the game. For example, just today they patched the game, and anyone who used the Shadow Realm shop got a perma banned message for just trying to buy an item, something that is clearly part of the game. Not an exploit in anyway. Even some who didn't buy anything, got banned. They do remove the ban, but you have to make an appeal on discord and wait several hours.
4. Drop chances are extremely low. In almost 100 hours of game play, I only ever saw 1 useful item drop that i could sell on the market. The highest tier of gear hasn't even dropped yet after thousands of hours combined everyone has put in this season. And there are several items in this tier. The satanics, the second highest tier, also drop infrequently, and the ones that do, are usually useless.

The game is quite fun at the start. There are many classes to choose from and it does feel like a diablo-lite as far as how much you can customize how you play, but the endgame is pretty much the same 4 activities with a couple of bosses you cannot run unless you spend 100s of hours grinding for items your probably will never see.

In conclusion, PLAY IT CASUALLY. Any attempt to play this game seriously will leave you feeling like you've wasted your time.

Like dont starve together but with PVP. Lots of little surprises here and there. Wish more people knew about it and it had better servers though

In the current state, unable to play the game. Shame because it looks pretty interesting. Game launches and I'm able to create a toon, but when logging in with any toon, i find myself with a black screen of death.

I finally got the game to work by disabling game bar on windows

After the changes announced today, I would recommend this to anyone. The Devs responded very quickly to the outrage of P2W. Witch and fist is going free. The game is very fun. Don't expect MMO level content but its a good fighting sim.
