best horror coop game ever

let's keep it short

positive sides:
+ 2k launcher has been removed
+ story is fine but not the best
+ characters are well written
+ important choices do actually matter

negative sides:
- fake coop
- story at the first 2 chapters feel dizzy as gameplaywise and storywise
- doesn't allow you to skip/speed the dialogues

in general, it is a good interactive horror-movie but with a fake coop and inability to skip/speed the dialogues.

I consider this game to be one of the best among point and click genre games. The style, the sounds and all of the characters are amazing unique. The puzzles are all unique as well and they're interesting to solve.

Just play it man

The game is too short to feel the vibe of the Samorost game series, but since this game is free, it is a nice start before playing the other 2 sequels.

It's been 14 years since the release, and nevertheless I can still recommend you guys to play it.

I have beat the game around 2 times on CD and 2 times on steam and I can say this is a true masterpiece for its year, but sadly it has been removed from purchasing in on Steam due to how old is this game engine is and how it has some downfalls.

First of all, the atmosphere in the original Metro 2033 feels like a horror game in a good way, I have never felt so many goosebumps even after replaying it. But especially the atmosphere in civil stations really hits me off, seeing how the life inside the underground subway with their apocalyptic look may feel depressive.

The sounds are also a big part here for the atmosphere, for example the muffled voice under a gas mask, every step that mutants make like crawling from the holes that alerts you for nearby mutant, and many other SFX that are so well driven.

The lore it's not that hard to understand, and it makes this game a simple linear story game with a little variety. Some people may find it good, some may not, it is your choice to decide.

But almost after 14 years after release, you can definitely tell its age. Due to high FPS performance from modern GPUs you can not crawl into small holes, scrolling the weapon menu may help you, but I bet the GPUs after 2025 would make your progress stuck.

The stealth is impossible at the early game because enemies can hear you crouching until you buy some sort of a sneaky suit on your 1/3 of the playthrough, but there is still no sort of enemy knock out like in the redux. Some levels are so mazy-like, that you may spend over an hour for finding your way out, for example the Black Station level. The shooting point and the iron scopes are not aligned at all, making it harder to aim on longer distances.

In the conclusion, from what I said, I see why it got removed from the Steam store due to unreleased game features it was planned and its old engine. But if you'll get your hands somehow on the original Metro 2033, it is definitely worth to play and feel the game's atmosphere like it used to be in 2010.

This sequel is a perfect example on how to make the game's sequel the best. It literally invented new mechanics, massively expanding the lore, adding a lots of new and UNIQUE enemy variants, and making missions much more detailed, DISTINCTIVE and much more understandable.

I really liked the way how you can destroy these metal beasts. For example, a giant one with a cannon may destroy watchers with an explosion of its own or even himself. And there are a lot of unexpected tricks here that gives us immersive sims, which you won't find the same in modern games...

This is my favourite part of Thief series so far, improving the lore, missions, enemies and making it all steampunk, gives a true game masterpiece!

I bought this game at 89% discount, and oh god this is a masterpiece. This game has a lot of unique mechanics that I have never seen before in modern games I played. The atmosphere and its ambient is just, unbelivable for a game that came out last millennium and it still can make a big even today.

The music dives you so hard, that one time I played thief 5 hours in a row, without even noticing how fast the time went by. I completed the game within 33 hours at Expert difficulty, and I felt every minute in this game like I was the Garret

Lore itself is magnificient but for some reasons cutscenes didn't run for me. I think you'll be having thoughts about the lore at 4 am in your brain, while you're trying to sleep.

The are a few of negative sides in this game, first one is just a bad port to steam which cuts off cutscenes for some reason, and the second is some levels are very complicated such as thieve's guild and you simply dunno where to go. But the levels from dark project seems simplier and more clear.

I know that stealth and games from last millennium is not the best to play, but believe me, it is really worth it.

There's clearly a good work on animations and cutscenes. But in general, the episode itself is quite short. In reality completing without focusing on achievements is gonna take you less than 3 hours.
