So while the game is really good, don't get me wrong I 100% recommend this game, I do NOT recommend buying it from Steam, so the deal is it will work and start, first few times you install it, but it will hit an activation limit, and they will no longer reset the activation number, they had done this in the past for me, after contacting EA support, but I contacted them again to get reactivated and was told that they no longer would be doing that.

The process to get the game working through Origin was not a difficult one but it was rather annoying, I was asked for two forms of purchase, which was the receipt through Steam, and the email I received when I bought it, not too difficult right? Well I bought this game 10 years ago. And obviously didn't have the email, and they wouldn't take it, was told contact Steam support, which was super supportive, however they were unable to resend an email that old, for obvious reasons.

In the end I was given mercy from a customer service rep who activated it on my Origin with no problem. You might be able to activate your product key from Steam onto Origin (I was unable to even after I gave the rep my product key.
