A beautifully disturbing and frightning game. There are little words to describe it without simply having you play it. The story is great, the art is excellent, and the sound design, music, everything is phenomenal. If you enjoyed the game Year Walk, then this game has a very, very similar style of gameplay and quality. Other reviewers said this game was distrubing... I didn't believe that to be true until about five minutes in. You think it's distrubing, and then manages to get more distrubing. Ultimately, that is what makes the game that much more interesting. A slow descent into madness awaits you. My only criticism is that I got lost at a couple points and I was a little unsure of what to do. Also, that it's short (2+ hours max). Other than that, this game is well worth your while. P.S. You aren't being hacked. Don't worry. You'll understand later.

I have not completed the game at this moment, but I'm about 3/4s of the way through and have a pretty good opinion of it at this point.

The game is good, not great, not bad.

Pros:
Interesting concept and setting
Good looking
Scary at times (Ghost World Place Thing)
Weapons well reflect Time Period
Story is interesting
Once breaking learning curve, game becomes fun and challenging
Always a sense of mystery
Enemies are challenging and can be fun if one the right difficulty
Historic (Not sure how accurate to time period, but it feels historic in a good way)

Cons:
GIANT LEARNING CURVE. Took me at least an hour until I made any signifigant progress because of this.
No voice acting, wish there was something. Game needed more sounds (There is NO MUSIC)
Enemies sometimes act weird, easily spot you
Enemies are hard to kill
Weapons hard to use
Easy to get lost
Game lags time to time
Objective based (Go here, Then go here)

Overall, the game is worth it if you are a big historical geek, looking for something different, or it has a good sale. Not worth the full price, but I only paid around a dollar since I got this in a bundle. Worth a play though, game has some strong points most other games lack.

7/10- Burning Man Approved

This game was fun. Everytime I played a song on this game, I enjoyed myself. (Except when the hardness was too high or the song was slow. But we'll get to that later.) If you want a honest review, here it is.

The game is fun, a bit repetitive, but fun. I'm going to break this review down into three sections. Gameplay, Story, and Graphics.

Gameplay: The game is hard, challenging, and a thrill to play. If you have a mixed music library like I do it will be a great game. However, I do need to mention you have to buy a 1$ DLC to play with Itunes music. But since I got this game in a bundle, it was not a problem to pay a dollar for it. There is an assorted amount of mini-demons just waiting to be attacked, and while easy by themselves. The challenge comes when they attack you on all sides and you cannot hold out. Now while song to song was fun it does get repeatitive. Although it does calibrate your music to each level, the same mini-demons appear and do basically the same patterns in differnet places or number based on the song. Which is my first negative thing to say about the game. The game does shine however when the Demon battles comes every once in a while. These are exciting, especially with Rock music or J-pop playing in the background of an all out battle. All the demons have obvious weaknesses, it's just a challenge of exploiting them. Especially the last boss, who will non-stop shoot and only stays exposed for maybe two seconds. Overall, the game is fun but you need the right music. ANY SONG THAT IS SLOW WILL NOT BE FUN OR CHALLENGING. REMEMBER THIS BEFORE CHOOSING A SONG. One last thing to mention is difficulty. The game as I said before is hard, but becomes easier the more you play. As you upgrade your ship, you'll notice that impossible song you played before was the simpliest thing you need. It just takes time.

Story: Believe it or not this game has a story that I was not aware of at the time I got this game. It's simple. There is a demon, he wants to take over world with the Symphony of Souls. You have to stop him. Even though this story was so simple however, I still found it exciting everytime the main villian takes over your screen and talks to you. With a simple story, I have to say they executed it well by mixing it in fine with the actual game. Could it have been better? Probobly. Was it good for this game? No doubt about it.

Graphics: I don't like to talk about graphics, because really I don't care about graphics. So long as it has good gameplay and story... (Wait? Didn't this game have both? It did didn't it!) The graphics are great, had no problems, no bugs, no glitches, everything ran smoothly.

Overall, it's a good game. Especially for the price I payed. (1.33) I think it does everything it promises and overall is fun.

If you didn't read the full review here's the jist of it.

Positive
+Extreme Replayability
+Challenging
+Story is Good
+Graphics are Great

Negative
-Wish Story Could Be Deeper (Infinite Symphonies? What does that mean?)
-Overly Repeatitive

I give this game a 7/10. Get it

Amnesia has a special something that most games fail to acheive.

That is what you become aware of almost as soon as you finish the game. The only way I could possibly describe the game once I finished was... Wow... Just wow... The game is probobly the example of what a horror game should be for all the indie creators and AAA developers out there. However, what does this game achieve in?

To start off, we must discuss the story. The story is what makes up a game for me as a gamer. Game has bad story, its a bad game. There has only been a handful of games that go against this, but even still, those handful don't match the rest. However, Amnesia's story is phenomenal and a lot darker then you anticipate. When I entered, I thought this game was going to have a very gothic story (which it did) but did not see the grisly scenes of torture coming up on the plot. Even if this is all told in flashbacks and distrubing hallucinations, it does not take away from the fact the story is messed up. YOU WILL REGRET TRYING TO REMEMBER WHAT YOU FORGOT. Daniel says to himself in the very beginning "I choose to forget" and you'll see why sure enough. To put it simply, do not doubt for a moment this game's story will get to you.

Onto Gameplay, it's a straight through adventure with puzzles and terror thrown in the mix. The game is actually pretty open believe it or not, not Minecraft kind of open but a open where some of the rooms have little purpose but to be there. (Which is what I believe Amnesia: Machine for Pigs I lacking, but that's not the point). The castle is a fun place to explore and the puzzles why can have little things you might miss, truly are not frustrating. If you want a frustrating horror puzzle game, go to Anna:Extended Edition. While that was not a bad game at all, the puzzles get very annoying. Amnesia however masters the right balance of puzzles and terror and really make a good game out of it. Part of the gameplay as well, is as you might expect hiding, running, and screaming. I did not die much during the game, which is a good thing, but the moments I ran and hid sent chills rushing through my spine and got the adreniline pumping. However, I'll discuss that in scariness

The game is scary, every moment is scary, this game is the scariest game out there. You will not know what to expect, and some of the areas will truly scare you. I got scared several times and panicked at little and big things, the game's atmopshere really prepares you for this game. If you don't believe me, do the "immersion" the game discusses at the beginning and do just that. You will surely have a heart attack... (I suggest calling 911 before playing the game, so in the eight minutes that it takes for them to arrive, you'll have to wait little)

The last thing I need to discuss is the Audio and Graphics. The graphics look great, I have to say, maybe not what everyone else seems to find "great" these days but they are good. There were only two moments where I got a buggy graphic or thought "They could have made this better" but truly its good. The game was also made in 2010 when we still were just starting to improve graphics, so I have no complaints. The Audio however is what is really important to discuss, the Audio is what makes the game scary. The whole game I played with headphones, though it made me cower in fear and suffer serious mental issues, I don't regret a thing. There is a certain thing that the game does with it's audio, that just makes it so good. You don't even need a screen for some of the audio to send shivers down your spine. It sticks with you far after the game is done and when you hear that Grunt or Brute's cry of anger you will fear for your life.

Overall, the game is excellent. Do not miss out on this game. It is one of the best game I have ever played in my life and sure as heck the best horror game.

Story 9/10
Gameplay 9/10
Scariness 10/10
Graphic & Audio 9/10
Overall: 9/10

I usally reccomend a game, always finding more good things then bad. I got this game on Humble Bundle for .25 cents. For that price, yeah its worth it... However, I would not pay anywhere near full price for this.

The game itself is a good strategy game, hard and challenging as you should expect from a game like this. However go to Galcon Fusion if you want that, which is the only multiplayer version of this game. Galcon Legends flaws are not on its gamplay but rather on its story, design, etc. I can barley play it without having to quit from boredom or frustration. The characters lack a certain charm and seem very bland, the cutscenes before a battle are also boring and a random trying to get laughter out of you. Even the Banjo King everyone spoke highly of in other reviews was a major dissapointment. (The only time I really laughed was when the Squid Queen came in and talked about how she was going to use her "sex appeal" to defeat me) Overall, the game is not that good when it comes to any sort of story, art, etc.

As I said before, The actual strategy part of the game is well done. The AI are very challenging and is actually a reasonablly good experience when it comes to that, but as I said. Galcon Fusion is the better one, having real humans and AIs all in one game (without the bland story).

Overall: Don't get this game unless its in a bundle with other good games or just get Fusion if you want the strategy game part. The game is short too, only should take around two hours to beat the whole thing.

Story: 2/10
Difficulty: 8/10
Graphics: 4/10
Gameplay: 8/10
Overall: 5/10

After finishing through the "Truth" ending I felt so compelled to write a review on the game. To say the least, this gaming experience had its unforseen ups and downs. It balances out in the end, but overall it was a gaming experience I do not often have.

For one, let us start with story. What the Serious Heck, I mean seriously, What the Heck! This game had a amazing storyline that is at first not obvious to gamer's eye and WOW! The ending! Personally, one of the better storylines that leaves you hanging at the end. On this, the game could not seem to fail at all...

That is until we hit Gameplay... Gosh, that was annoying. You will strangle yourself much like that creepy tree event does at some points. Ugh, I thought this would be fun, not tear out your hair. While it is fun to explore the house, the things you are supposed to be doing is unobvious and you often get stuck. The puzzles were fun however and when you get to some of them they are interesting and a challange. It is the grab the hook you missed in the other room kind of thing that got me annoyed.

This is a horror game so let us mention scares. Anna is not a jump scare kind of horror, although there is a few instances. (I HATE YOU TREE LADY!) Overall, the atmosphere, the spectacular audio, and the creepy events that leave you scared to move foward for a few seconds are what get to you. The backstory and some rooms also really add to this factor.

Graphics were a problem for me for the the first hourish of gameplay. The graphics were not bad in any way what so ever. It was a certain glitch on my computer that made me almost end the total go through. I did solve this however, but had to play on a small window screen. 800x600 to be exact. Not too much of a problem although it caused some google searching and experimentation to fix the problem.

The last thing I want to mention is the music and sound. Those both really took me in and freaked me out! Not to mention the game giving you ten songs of theirs to listen too. Wow, however composed the music did a excellent job. Not forgetting the ingame sounds that send chills down your spine. This area earned a perfect score for me in the game.

Overall, I say play it. The game has its bugs and can be annoying however! The story is not to be missed and the sound/audio/atmosphere/ and so much more really make a excellent game.

Total
Story-10/10
Gameplay-5/10
Scares-8/10
Graphics-7/10
Audio-10/10
Overall 40/50

Play the game, expect some frustration however... Just remember, the other stuff in the game make up for it!

After only playing through two endings, I can offically say this game is incredible!

The storyline is well done and spread out wonderfully and the character development is very interesting through the playthrough. The main character Winter I had come to like as well through the gameplay even though at first I thought she was a bit annoying. Cyrus, especially caused some mood swings from love to hate to love to depise to go die in a whole to I really like this guy.

The flaw to the game is gameplay is incredibly limited. You only make one-five(depending on your decisions) choices in a thirty-a hour gameplay session. This however is pretty common in a visual novel game and overall just adding a few more choices like in dialouge would improve this. (consider that for chapter 2 and 3!) However, the music, story, and art all make up for this flaw. Actually, that is the only flaw in this game!

Overall, the game is spectacular and well spent on if you love to read like myself and admire story, music, and art in a game.

Rating
Gameplay-4/10
Story- 10/10
Music- 10/10
Art-10/10

One of the best games I played in a very long time! Have not been this fullfilled in a game for several months. Excellent work!

The simplicity and yet complex overall gameplay is amazing. Quite basically, anyone searching for a challenge will be far from disappointed when buying this game.

The game is quite mysterious in itself, in which your not sure if you are helping the goos or sending them to their demise. And who is the sign painter for crying out loud! But anyhow, you play through the whole thing and you cannot stop playing it. With plenty of replay value with the OCD and the Goo factory. All I can ask myself is...

WHY HAVE YOU NOT PLAYED THIS GAME YET

Go and click that buy button because this is quite possibly one of my favorite game and should be experienced by all. Don't let the simplicity of the game distract you from buying a rare piece of gaming art.
