This game is awesome and is a VR staple. Very easy for beginners to understand even non gamer's can pick it up in minutes. This is the VR game I keep coming back to over and over again. If you own a VR headset and don't have this game then you're missing out.

This game is a classic, if you have not played it yet in 2020 you should. I do not think that $20 is a reasonable price for this game, I would recommend waiting until a steam sale. I would say that the game does not hold up in 2020, I think for its time it was very revolutionary but a lot of the mechanics have not aged well. Enemies for example sometimes do not attack you and will just stand still making certain levels way too easy, while other levels enemies will constantly throw grenades at your feet and hit every single shot when you leave cover. I think the story is also quite weak. The story has two perspectives, you play as the Russian Military and the American Military. The Russian story is much stronger than the American story, but it still falls short in quite a few areas. It is hard to feel connected to certain characters and pacing feels off, you pick the story at random intervals with no backstory on how you arrived at where you are. The story does pick up near the end and has a nice final battle, even though it is quite difficult due to old mechanics.

Multiplayer is quite a bit more fun than Story. I do not think zombies will ever get old. The normal death match servers are just ok, usually filled with lots of bots, and sometimes cheaters. I have spent most of my hours playing zombies as the endless amounts of modded maps will forever keep you entertained. I keep coming back to it as one of the best game modes to play with friends. This is where you will get your moneys worth.

Overall a good game that doesnt quite hold up in 2020 but has the classic zombies mode that never gets old. Not worth $20 but I give it a 7/10

I have known about this game for a long time but finally decided to buy it a few weeks ago. Its been awesome, its kind of unwelcoming to new players because the community is pretty toxic (screaming, Killing on sight, insults) but me and my buddys managed to meet a few nice people who showed us the ropes (Upgrade floors first, airlock, etc) I feel we have gotten pretty decent in the past couple weeks. We made bases, tools, and most importantly friends. Its been really fun and I am 100% happy with my purchase, but thats not to say this game doesnt have its issues. specifically the cheating issue, this is a huge problem. On the server me and my friends play on we noticed a MASSIVE base arising in mere days after the wipe, im talking colossal, it even had high external walls covering a huge portion of the roads we scavange for scrap, this made it difficult to collect scrap. We assumed that it was just a zerg, we were partially correct. A few weeks pass our base gets raided, no biggie all part of the fun, so we build a new one even stronger with way more defenses. Its going good a few days pass and were really making progress. Out of nowhere my friend starts getting shot at by an ak from the massive base on the hill and he runs into our gated area for protection. A few minutes later later 15+ chinese players storm the outside of our gated area and build a sheet metal raid base in seconds, then proceed to place around 5 turrets on the outside of our base so we cannot go on our roof or peek our windows. Then they c4 our high stone wall and start shooting rockets nonestop at our base, nothing we can do to protect our base. We tried peeking the windows and if the turret didnt shoot, you were getting insta killed anyway. A few minutes later they finally blast into our loot room where we just instantly get killed. The best thing they got was a 4x. The whole getting raided part wasnt even that annoying, it was just the fact that it was by a bunch of cheaters who are obviously aim hacking and who knows what else. Everyone in the servers chat knew they were cheating but they never got banned. This is the kind of stuff that demoralizes you from playing, grinding resources for days or even weeks to have it taken in minutes by cheaters with infinite rockets to waste. The game also runs like sh*t, everyone i know plays on potato, even myself with a gtx 1060 6gb and i5 6500, i get around 80-90fps but with frequent drops into the 30s when loading new areas. Other than those two things though the game is fine, i like that it keeps getting updates monthly, but i wish they would focus on the cheating problem a bit more.

Apparently the chinese zerg all got banned so thats good, but im sure they will just buy new accounts. But since they did I can reccomend this game :)

Fun and Relaxing game. The music is good and the controls feel great. Its the best feeling when you hit a huge ramp and pull of a sick trick. And if you mess up its fun anyways because the ragdolls are hilarious. I love the rewind feature so even if you do mess up you can go back to whereever you want in the past 30 seconds or so and start there. Fun game to just sit back and relax and listen to music. Its free, give it a try!

Very short but fun gameplay. Doesnt add much to Half Lifes story but I think it contributes more than Opposing Force. You get to play as Barney Calhoun (who later shows up in HL2) and help scientists escape the facility during the time of HL1 incidents. If you liked HL1 and want more for $1 on a sale why not, But if you're just trying to get the main story then this and Opposing Force are quite skippable.

More of the halflife action you love but this time you get to play as Adrian Shepard, a soilder who is ordered to hunt down gordon freeman. The game spices things up by adding new weapons (normal and alien) and new enemies from Race X. Also I like how in this game you can have a squad of soilders follow you and aid you in fights. Doesnt contribute much to the Half Life storyline though, so in my opinion you can probably skip this if you already played HL1. But for $1 on a sale why not, its 6 hours of fun gameplay.

Wow, this game is great. Honestly for $1 on a sale you CANNOT go wrong.

The graphics are a bit dated but the gameplay still holds up. Tons of weapons to blast soilders and aliens to chunks with. I will say though that the soilders seem a bit overpowered at times (I played on medium) it seems like you cant really dodge their attacks and its pretty much kill them before they do too much damage. Other than that everything else is great, intriguing storyline, nice level design, fun puzzles. If you havent played this game then do yourself a favor and pick it up. Its a classic cmon, and like I said before at $1 for 12 hours of gameplay you cannot go wrong.

I enter the world and started getting chased by a huge cory in the house while the theme song blasts in my ears.

Finally, I accept it and proceed to jump and do backflips with anime girls as we dance in unison to cory in the house

10/10 would nut again

*BTW i dont have a VR headset, it works with mouse and keyboard
