Its a shame. Doom Eternal is a fantastic single player experience. But with the Denuvo invasive malware that I essentially paid 60 dollars to have added 2 months later. I can not reccomend even installing this game right now.

It amazes me what this team is able to do with a nearly 20 year old engine.
Playing the new Xen Beta (Af of writing this review)
I am amazed just how beautiful this game can be.

Been playing it since the mod came out in 2012 and will continue to do so.

Easily one of my most favorite games of 2017. I won't go much into detail about the story but this game is phoenomal. I only have finished the main story and haven't really dived into the side missions (Yet)

Gameplay wise, if you have played the The New Order, You'll feel right at home. Apart from some minor changes, combat remains the same for the most part. You got guns, theres Nazis. You kill said Nazis, Its simple but super fun.

Storywise too, this game is amazing. Everyone is on point, the game has it's badass moments, as well as moments that would have me burst out laughing on how absurd and awesome they were. Though of course, the story isn't flawless, but it's pretty great. My main issues with the story isn't much about how it goes, but the ending. Which from what I hear is a common complaint. It feels very abrupt, in a "to be continued" sense, but regardless it is great.

Now, graphics wise I can't say much as my rig is a bit too old to run this game on it's highest settings. But from what I've see. Even on the medium graphics preset this game looks visually stunning, for anyone wondering. My setup is as follows: CPU is a Intel i5 4690K running at 4.2Ghz, GPU is a AMD Radeon R9-280X, RAM is 24GB DDR3 memeory running at 1866mhz, In most parts of the game I've been seeing the game run at around 30-60 fps, though in some areas the framerate has dropped to even as low as 15. forcing me to run the game at 720p to make it playable. The game has even perfect 21:9 ratio support. I played the game at 2560x1080 and everything works perfectly. Hud elements scale properly and aren't awkardly stuck in a 16:9 window. FOV wise, the game defaults to 90, but allows you to go up to 120, though without first warning you that the game is was made with 90 FOV in mind. Though that is not bad at all! Since a lot of other games are made with console level FOVs for their cutscenes, causing some weird problems if you try to use a normal FOV like 90. (Looking at you, Battlefield 4) Speaking of cutscenes, the pre-rendered cutscenes are in a letterbox 21:9 format. With black bars on top and bottom to make it more "cinematic", and the great thing about the is that they scale properly for 21:9 screens. As in the black bars are removed and the cutscene fills your whole screen. I absolutely applaud MachineGames for their wonderful support of 21:9.

Though, I do have my cons with this game. Not major ones, but they were a bit annoying. For the most part, the game relies too much on pre-rendered cutscenes, sometimes awkwardly switched between the two formats, making it look rather odd and out of place, other is really minor. but the weapon selection wheel is really annoying to use. A lot of the time the cursor that appears for you to select the weapon doesn't follow it fully, and has been the reason why I have died so many times trying to select the proper weapon. If you want to switch weapons, just use the top row numberkeys instead and save yourself the headache.

Oh and one more thing, THE SOUNDTRACK, Mick Gordon has done it again, making a wonderful and fitting soundtrack for the game, It doesn't have the same music system that DOOM 2016 had, but it still is wonderful and makes combat a lot more intense.

Overall, Wolfenstein II is everything that I hoped it would be. I loved The New Order, and I love this game as well, and I highly reccomend picking it up and playing it. As of this review being written the game is currently off for 30 USD, I highly suggest picking it up if you got the computer to run it.

Quite possibly the most fun and challenging game I ever played. Excellent gunplay, The adrenaline rush you can get in this game is just insane. Imagine this; You're the last one alive on your team, the only way to get them to respawn is to capture a point on the opposite side of the map. Just you, your gun, and a sea of angry NPCs between you, who won't even hesitate for a second before filling you with lead. You run room to room, across streets, through alleyways. Bullets ricocheting behind you, shooting anything that moves in front of you. You finally make it to the point, your gun low on ammo, you grab a nearby dead terrorist's RPK and set yourself up in the room, waiting as that bar fills, capping the point. Just when you think you're home free, terrorists start pouring through every direction, firing everything they got at you, to stop you from capping that point, you keep firing, mowing them down, hoping for those magic words to resonate through your headphones. "Charlie has been secured", and then. nothing. A terrorist gets a lucky headshot on you, killing you instantly, losing the round, but no one is mad, not your team, and definitely not you. You may have lost, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that was fun.

Its moments like these that sets Insurgency apart from other shooters. The only other shooter I can think of that can give you this kind of rush, is Arma. Speaking of which, in some ways these two games are quite similar. While yes Arma is a open word milsim, and Insurgency is a closed map FPS. Both still are the same in quite a few ways. First off both games feature a leaning mechanic, both allow you to deploy a bipod for better aim, and both let you customize your weaponry. Unlike most shooters. Insurgency tries to give you as less info as possible. Essential things like your teammates and points are present, but things like health and ammo aren't. The only indication of how much ammo you have is a number in the corner. Showing how much magazines you have. Though, that doesn't mean they're full. You could leave 1 bullet in each mag, and still have the game tell you that you got 5 magazines. As for health, lets just say. typically no armor is a one shot kill from most weapons, light armor is 2 shots, and heavy armor allows you to survive up to 3.

I highly recommend Insurgency to anyone, and also recommend Day of Infamy, originally a mod for Insurgency, like Insurgency originally was a mod for Half Life 2. Now a stand alone early access game that takes place during the European WW2 theatre,

Oh, and lets not forget the weapons themselves, American soldiers are granted access to all the typical US armed forces rifles. M4A1, M16A4, M14EBR, the M249 and many more.
The Insurgents on the other hand get more typical weapons of a middle eastern faction, weapons like the AK74, AKM and RPK, but also featured surplus WW2 weapons like the M1 Carbine, MP40, Sterling, and the Mosin.

All in all, amazing gunplay. pretty good selection of firearms, pretty decent though small community, and very easy to get immersed into and have fun, even when failing the same mission over and over.

While the selection of trucks is lacking (SCS gib Volvo VNL pls) the game is everything I expected. Everything works exactly like they did in ETS2. The game world is amazing, and framerates are great.

Bethesda never learns, Paid mods are back and in full force, and they're subpar and over the top expensive and lower quality compared to what you can get for free from Nexus Mods and other websites.

Update: Take Two has allowed OpenIV to continue to be available. But this doesn not change my negative review. Take Two are still greedy devolopers and I will not allow this whole thing to be swept under the rug like it never happened.

Do not reccomend this game one bit. It's publisher is a greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that views us, the consumer as greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ if we aren't spending money 24/7 on GTA: Online. And now Take Two decided to send the devolopers of OpenIV a cease and desist. OpenIv being a very powerful tool meant for modding the singleplayer portion of GTA V, and had failsafes to prevent users who modded their game from using online to prevent it being exploited for cheating. Despite that, Take Two deemed OpenIV a cheating tool, despite OpenIV having no effect whatsoever on the Online portion of the game. All while the hacking and cheating scene on GTA: O continues to grow and the massive grind to obtain in game currency needed to buy some of the content in the "Free" updates has gotten so bad that many players, (including me in my time playing GTA:O) have actually CHEERED and praised modders who were spawning cash for players just so they could actually afford the more fun things in the game.

Now that Take Two has effectivly shut down OpenIV and thus modding of the game in terms of things like replacing vehicles, player models, ect. And in no doubt the scripthooks and other such mods will potentially recieve cease and desists in the future as well, effectivly killing off modding GTA V all together.

Now let me just make it clear that this is NOT Rockstar's fault. Rockstar has made a great game, and have for many years fully supported modding of their games, to the point of even showcasing some of the popular mods on their own websites. And as well as all the new content we find in the game is awesome. But sadly Take Two are still pulling the strings and all they want is more money.

If you haven't bought this game already, Don't. Save your money for something better. Modding GTA games has always been a HUGE selling point on the PC. But thanks to Take Two not anymore.
