I have to admit, after playing the first game. I was really expecting this game to be unplayable for me. Metro 2033 was a giant cluster♥♥♥♥ of lag. Upon starting the game, I went and set all of my settings to the lowest possible setting and changed my resolution to 720p. The opening scene where you are chatting with your comrades and then all of the sudden the dark ones started messing with your minds ran at a silky smooth 60FPS. But the moment I was in D6 my FPS dropped to about 10. After doing some reading I saw that someone said that turning off "Advanced PhysX" could fix it. Strangely enough, the advanced PhysX setting isn't where you think it would be, Instead of video settings its in game options. Upon doing that my frame rate jumped from 10 to 40-50ish FPS.So, if your FPS is suffering really badly even on the lowest settings, try disabling advanced PhysX. In terms of the actual look of the game. Even on low the game looks just purely amazing. (I really love it when developers can make their games looks amazing even on low settings.) The world really has that post-nuclear war feel. Unlike the first game, Last Light takes place in Spring/Summer while 2033 took place in Winter. The foliage really makes the ruins of Moscow feel alive, unlike in Metro 2033 where everything looked dead and miserable (Though, that kinda fits the theme for a post nuclear war senerio, but plants add on to that)

But never mind the graphics, lets talk about the actual game. In terms of features, Metro Last Light is WAAAAAAAAY better then Metro 2033. Some of the main features include attachments, better AI, better stealth and in general better character design. The story itself is pretty good. As you progress through the game you will meet many more enemies then you would have in Metro 2033. There are a few bossfights, which can become very challenging if you don't manage your ammo properly. In my play-through I wasted nearly all of my ammo on the enemies preceding to a boss battled (Not saying which one) and thus resulted in me having to run around dodging the blows while waving my knife at it until it died. Even the plain old humans are sometimes a tougher enemy. They are smarter, and sometimes tougher to kill as they wear armour renders shooting certain spots useless. The mutants are also a bit more challenging they they were in Metro 2033. The watchmen attack faster and its fairly easy to be swarmed by them. As for the flying mutant things (No clue what they are called) They are able to pick you up and then drop (Though I believe they were able to do this in the first game as well) In addition to the mutants seen in the first game, A lot of new enemies can be found. Ranging from spider like creatures that have a weakness to light to giant shrimp creatures that spit a acid-like liquid at you.

In terms of characters, The three main characters, Artyom, Miller and Khan(Strangely, in the polish translation it is written as "Chan" which is pronounced "Han") appear again. Some new characters appear as well. Mainly it being Anna and Paveł. The Commies and Nazis make a comeback in Last Light, and this time you get to learn a little about them unlike in Metro 2033 where you just had to try to sneak past them (And either fail or just casually walk past them)

As for any criticisms I have for this game, I don't have a lot. My main issue with the game was the fact that I could run in and be in a firefight with the entire room, and then move on to the next room with the occupants of that having no idea about what just happened in the room next to them. It would have been more fun and interesting if you were to try to stealth the entire level and mess up at one point. people in the next room and all rooms following it would be on high alert.

Pros:
Amazing graphics and level design, even on low settings
Interesting story
More diverse arsenal
Weapon customisation
Better AI and stealth mechanics.

Cons:
Fire fights in one room are completely inaudible to people in the next room over
Advanced PhyX is a big FPS killer for AMD cards and some Nvida cards
