THIS IS A VERY HESITANT THUMBS UP, THE PRIMARY REASON IT IS A YES AND NOT A NO IS DUE TO THE HARD WORK AND NUMEROUS UPDATES PROVIDED BY DEVELOPERS, THAT TELLS ME THEY ARE WORKING HARD WITH THE COMMUNITY TO SOLVE ISSUES AND MAKE THIS A BETTER AND MORE COMPETITVE GAME

Like its PCGAMER first look, i believe that this is a great game that offers a nice ammount of fun, while boasting some pretty serious issues.
First I am a DotA vet been playing since the first release of allstars, so i am no noob to the MOBA genre, this game provides a unique but familiar experiance, 5v5 objectivebased gaming, however Fractured Space isnt about skill, or farming ability like DotA, you dont need to sink 1000 hrs to understand all the systems, income is in the form of mines you capture, the primary mode plays out like a game of domination, the more mines you own the higher level you obtain, levels are automatic, you recieve them once enough ore is obtained and you stop in at your home base or a forward base. every three levels you choose between more dmg, more defence, or utility (cds etc.) the level system is probably the weakest part of the game, and it is BY FAR the most bare bones of any moba i have ever played, you can not level up skills individually, the customization of ships is restricted to premium skins and a couple weapon altercations, like upgrading your base cannon that deals 40 dmg on a 5 second cd to a light cannon, that deals 20 dmg on a 2.5 second cooldown, its essentialy the same dmg but different attack speed, not much thought has gone into customization, hopefully they will bring more to the table as the game progresses. While it isnt as strategy or skill based, knowledge of the genre will still come in handy. I have played 7 rounds, and have yet to lose, even though my clunky starting ship is a heap of junk compared to most other ships in the game.

THE GOOD: while the game is not skill oriented, good accuracy is required, not in the twich shooting style of a game like CS:GO rather in a calm strategical sense, you aim where the enemy is, or lay in wait striking only when they enter the killzone of your ships primary weapons, and when your strategy works, it truly feels like you are a captain. While leveling and custimization are pretty much as bad as they could be (what would usually be a deal breaker for me) they are overshadowed by the great diversity in the ships. Like in DotA, every ship(hero) has its own skill set, but not 4 skills, instead each ship has 8 weapons/tools at its disposal, and each ship has different armor values based around each of its sides. There is one, for instance, that can only fire its primary cannons from its sides, these sides are where its unusually thick armor is at its weakest, however in order to shoot upon its weaker armor you must put yourself in its killzone, so bringing one of these behemoths down requires great coordination and strategy, do you get beneath it with fast attack fighters while your HEAVY pulls its aggro? or do you line up with it hoping your allies manage to make the most out of your sacrafice? The best part of the game is the joy of strategy that bore fruit, and (surprisingly) the very friendly community, something pretty much every moba falls short on. Game starts on usually led by people saying "CAPTAIN ON DECK" or "ALL HANDS ON DECK" its a playfull roleplay that really does go a long way to immersing you in the experiance.

THE BAD: So while this is a Thumbs Up review, i have to touch base on some pretty game breaking flaws that will be turn offs for a lot of people. First, and probably most imporant, the que system is ♥♥♥♥ right now, there is no penalty for denying it or leaving a match, other than you have to wait for the match to end to start a new one. My first game, the system put only 2 players on the enemy team, and two of my allies dropped out before hitting "R" your way of saying you are ready for the game to start...after you are in the game flying around...it seems like a REALLY REALLY REALLY redundant (see my irony) system, and to make matters worse the countdown couldnt start because one of the players left without hitting ready, so all 5 of us left in the game are sitting there waiting for a game that cant start, if we leave it tells us we have to wait or rejoin...about 1/4 of my play time is represented in sitting there trying to get a match to go, finally i inscructed everyone to leave, hoping that would fix the problem, and it did. I have not had the issue since

As i touched on in the first section, the leveling is awful, easily the worst being boasted by any moba on the market, automatic leveling is a systen that HAS to change if this game wants to grow, and this game does want to grow (the devs are constantly working on new stuff, and it is still in alpha) the level 9 cap needs to skyrocket for longer more competitve games, there needs to be more diverse maps of much larger size, and the environment looks awful, asteroids are more pixelated than pixel piracy, and ofcourse the choice every three levels needs to be updated to a system catering to diversifying your individual ship. And the last, but maybe worst system is the purchasing of new ships. I mentioned before the diversity of the ships, unfortunately it takes so damn long to unlock a new ship (unless you are using real money...) that literally everyone you see in every game will be using one of the three starting ships. I saw someone write in a review that this game isnt pay to win, but that at its current stage is false. This is very much pay to win, at least, pay if you want to fly a ship that isnt garbage without sinking 100 hrs in first. While this game was given away for the weekend for free, it is still a game you must purchase, you can tlel the devs are new to this, they know how to make a game, but are confused on how to make money form their game. You want us to pay to purchase the game, then you hound us with innumerable pay walls and force "Boosters" in our face after every game...you have to choose, is this f2p microtransactional paywalls, or is it a pay to play game, you can not do both you will lose fan respresct and your game will dissapate. I mean, you wouldnt be needing to give the game away for free if you hadnt royally ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the pay structure in the first place. Either get rid of the special credits or make it free to play, there is no inbetween.

This game should have won game of the year, or the decade. We see all this triple A ♥♥♥♥ with money packed into every crevice and i look at this game and compare those triple A devs to rich folks wiping their ass with hundred dollar bills, if a few talented guys can put togather a game i can download in less than one min and pack HUNDREDS of hours of content into a game worth a franction of the monetary value of games you can pull 10-12 hours from, i cant fathom what this team could do with an even larger backing.

There is a feeling you can get from a game, its hard to explain but the closest i can come is describing it as a "home" feeling, that feeling when its cold outside and you get into your warm house lock the doors and just feel, well, at home. This is a feeling often experimented in gaming, but terraria takes it to the next level, when nighfall comes you want to lock yourself in your home a place you built and created, and just be home.

If you need me, ill be in Terraria, perfecting my mountain fortress and awaiting the sequel...dont wait to buy this on sale its worth 10x its asking price, though my hours dont reflect it (i was playing on a stand alone version and rebought the game for steam to be able to play multiplayer) i have spent more time in Terraria than Fallout 4 and i spent 6 times more money on the later. Think about that.

***DO NOT BUY THIS GAME***

What they did should be illegal, the creators should be ip hacked and have their pictures posted on every gaming friendly release, website, news article or otherwise related source of media. They are traitors to gamers EVERYWHERE.

This overpriced piece of trash is a scam, the creator never had the talent or ambition to design a game, even though with all the hype the game could have been AMAZING the ammount of money the community pumped into this could have gone to creating a masterpiece instead it was pocketed and most likely snorted or spent on cheap vodka. This is a game that will never come to fruition the only good part of buying this game was that it let me post a negative review. This kind of trade practice kills what the greenlight and early access community is trying to accomplish. The hilarious irony, if the lazy bastards who released this had actually finished their game, they would have been able to buy several times more cheap vodka and cocain. Sucks for them.

I dont do many reviews but i ALWAYS read them before purchasing a game, this (at least on the front page) has NO negative reviews so i tried it out and i was blown completely away, first of all the skill tree system is massive i mean MASSIVE, and the community is helpful and (mostly) very inviting and friendly, i asked a simple q and it sparked into a 45 min debate where i took no part aside from having started said debate, i learned most of what i now know from reading that debate, but i digress.

At first i was very indescisive with what character to pick, i wanted to be unique from the other players but still viable, it was some amount of levels before i figured out that the character class is simply your beggining appearence and relative size/sex, the skill tree allows you to build ANY kind of character you can imagine, and once you get going the character classes are unrecognizable, you are your unique skills, every changing (and beautifully worked) armor and weapons.

I was distraught at believing this game to be an MMO, THIS IS NOT AN MMORPG it is an RPG with a party system and world chat, what is the difference you ask? An MMO takes dungeon crawling and makes it boring, go here fetch this kill 10000 of these to lvl up, that is not what you will find here, you can play completely alone or team up with friends or strangers, however you play the game it will be HARD which is, for me, the best part. The monsters you will encounter are always changing, and you never know how much you are dealing with until the legions have closed in on you and are unleashing hell and havoc in a way that Diablo 3 just couldnt offer. In D3 i always felt the same general strength and i knew what abilitys were comming my way, they were all based off your general power and really all equal in power based on a mana cost ratio, that made it feel like i was just changing how I fought when i leveled up instead of getting any stronger, especially since the enemies were based on your lvl, in this game each area has its level base, and you never know what kind of gem you may run across (the skill tree is PASSIVE skills only, you find your actual skills by socketing removable gems into weapons and armor) some of the skills ive encountered range from summoning skeletons from thin air, or zombies from dead corpses, shooting freezing ice spears that piece and enemy and then sends shattered pieces flying from its back, ive summoned tornados and icestorms, and all on characters who have yet to break lvl 15 in a game that is mind bogglingly huge, if you are AT ALL a fan of dungeon crawlers and distraught at the level of quality games like D3 and Dungeon Seige have brough to the genra. then this is the game for you and it is deffinately worth the 60 dollar game price except oh wait. ITS FREE. there is simply nothing bad to say (aside from desync issues here and there, but it really has no effect except forcing you to log back on and hit play, but it can be a little frustrating when you are in the middle of a 30 monster pileup with friends.
