Early Access Review
The League of Legends replacement I've wanted for years. There is a lot of good to be said about this game, but probably the best thing is how the style of game-play doesn't lend itself to being kidnapped by bad teams for 30+ minutes like a league or dota game, if your team is bad you will probably lose the first team-fight and then be right back in que. Really takes a lot of the stress and pain out of the pvp experience.

Cuts what I hated about Persona and amplifies what I love.

Fromsoft content getting downvoted for being too hard? It's good to be home.

EDIT: Really happy to alter my review after Sony walked their PSN requirement back, these devs are awesome and they honestly deserve success more than almost any other game studio.

The game is amazing, it's what live service games always could have been if the suits keep their hands off. Unfortunately the Sony suits could not stand to see their game thriving without them making literally ALL the money.

So in classic corporate fashion the suits decide to lose themselves money in the pursuit to getting more money, I will NEVER support linking my thriving STEAM account to your dying console software, this is STEAM not PSN.

Really hate that the amazing devs on this game are going to be punished for a decision that's out of their hands but we as a community need to reject this move.

Captivating world and amazing combat set a new bar in big budget RPG's, really glad this didnt go the way of Starfield.
PS: Lucky to have a higher end pc and havn't suffered many performance issues, but this mileage may vary.

Most games would shrivel and shrink beneath the shadow of something like BG3, but Owlcat's signature spice shines through making this game feel like a different experience rather than a lesser one.

TLDR: The Publisher of ARK (Snail Games) use hacks/cheats/aimbotting provided to them by the Developer (Studio Wildcard) to ruin the game for other players and permanent account bans like a weapon to punish anyone who speaks out against the cheating or tries to fight back in game (This has been proven and documented extensively going back to 2016)

So if you aren't caught up on the recent drama, the short version is that Snail Games, the company that publishes ("Owns") Ark have been directly linked to a Chinese tribe in game called TEA that is widely known for using hacks/exploits unavailable to any normal players to bully and invade whoever they please, often being so blatant as STREAMING while doing so, and even threatening to make fraudulent charges to players credit card accounts in game if they are attacked. This behavior has been recorded and lambasted by community going all the way back to at least 2016.

The Developer Studio Wildcard KNOW about these actions and either directly CONDONE them or are in no position to argue with their publisher.

Recently a large group of fed up players including several streamers decided to raid TEA tribe, streaming the event to prove no cheating will occur, even refusing to allow their members to use known and condoned methods that are commonly used because they knew TEA tribe and by extension publisher Snail Games have a long history of using malicious and (in the western world) often illegal actions against people who try to raid them.

What happened next was captured live by the streamers, as all 93 raiding members of the Island Boys tribe were PERMANENTLY BANNED from ARK, losing thousands and in some cases tens of thousands of hours of work they had put in to the game, all because a scummy Chinese tribe couldn't win even with the use of hacks and aim-bots.

It's not hyperbole to say this is probably the most disgusting and egregious act I have ever seen a video game publisher or developer take, and they should NEVER be supported in any form.
