Meh.

It's no Overwatch, but since Overwatch aint Overwatch no more either this is as close as it gets..
It's a massive cash grab, feels cheap as ♥♥♥♥. Constant ads and trying to get you to buy like three or four different coins. fewer unlocks than OW (unless you pay).

It's a well done cash grab, but it still feels like a ♥♥♥♥♥ asking if you want a date.

Game play is muted, nothing feels special. No hero is more engaging than another. It's mayonnaise all the way down. kinda bland and predictable.

It's not a bad game, its just the only OW clone that comes close. But its not, like, a good game.

A fantastic old school roguelike, with a solid dungeon crawler and unique colony management-esq gameplay.
Rather deep with numerous not so complex but nicely fleshed out systems.

If you have children, and they're interested to play a game like, say, Valheim, then I would suggest this game.

It is very VERY easy, and on rails. It is certainly an "open" world.... though the level design is very constrictive. On top of that, the game flow is very linear. Certainly you can see from my play time that I have not invested much time into this game, however, I promise you that all of the next 60, 70, 80 plus hours you COULD spend on this game will flash before your eyes in the first hour (I held out hope with almost three full hours of the game). I can not imagine how the game becomes better, certainly that may seem like I didn't give it a fair chance. But please believe when I say that within the first few moments I felt like I had the whole thing pegged, and not once in three hours was there ever a hint that there may be some surprise around the corner.

The build/inventory/journal/map etc. are all in the same menu system. It was almost similar to how many console port games feel, but there is also this underlying confusion of how to find which items where to build and also in the moving of items, some menus don't have the same move options as others and I know this is small but its a gathering game... item management is honestly more than half the game experience...

Combat is very simple. That's it really, it is not a challenge.

The environment doesn't feel expansive. It looks expansive, and I'm sure that it IS expansive... but it does not feel expansive.

The skill tree seems promising... but like I'm not sure why I would engage?
I'm the sort of player to save up lvl ups and then kinda feel where I'm weak and invest slowly... But even with the few points I saved up I never found myself wondering what bigger benefits awaited me. Like I felt I already had everything with the first few items. Like, sure... more powerful, like I get it... But... I felt no draw? No game play magic. I suppose I lack the ability to describe this.

I'll give it a 3/7... Probably worth it if you have kids or something.

It is not a bad game, it is decent enough, and there is content enough I think, but *I* would not recommend it.

Edit: I just realized these guys created portal knights and I think it really shows.

I've been playing since 2006.
5.0 definitely feels different, the graphics really do subtract from that "matrix" effect everyone talks about, the game is slightly less immersive.

The menus are nice, although I had no problem with the old version, and I do sorta miss it... a little. The new menus are rather clunky, where as the old menus were fairly smooth (after you sorta bash your head around it for awhile, it all sorta comes together), probably because of the key bindings more than anything.

5.0 sorta gets the menus half way. The information is more visually present, in most cases, and easier to find in all cases. How ever it doesn't have a very good flow. moving back takes you to the beginning rather than a step back. Now, I wholeheartedly think that this will be fleshed out and revamped in years to come, but for now its a sorta, for me, a sad middle ground. The menus do look much nicer, hands down. I do find it really hard to get to certain spots, like kitchen, which in my play is a sort of every other moment a screen I need up, it feels harder to get to some places, like much harder. Like getting to Urist preferences, it's too many steps, and I don't really see how the older "jumbled" way was worse... But, again, I played a lot for, like, 17 years. I may not be able to mend my ways...

That's the negative, the positive is that it looks very good. It feels a little more "game" like, now. and there are a lot of new features and things to discover and interesting things happening. The visuals do tell more story now, and the dwarves and other creatures look like their descriptions now, which is pretty cool.

All in all this is a fantastic version of Dwarf Fortress, and its now hitting a wider audience and I'm stoked about it.
But as an old player I gotta say there is just a little something missing... If you're a new player you wont even notice, it'll be the glorious DF we all love. If you're a vet then come meet me in the tavern, we will share a barrel of masterwork plump helmet wine and fist fight a gorlak while feeling nothing remembering a game made with all craftdwarfship of the highest quality.

Its pretty good.

Reminds me of Kenshi, but not totally.
Like if UnReal World had a bastard child with Kenshi, and the doctor was Dark Souls.
... I dont know, its pretty good though.

It's Mount and Blade 2. It's like the first one but a little more polished here and there. It's prettier now, runs pretty good on my old ass system.
It feels like the old game, but with some QOL upgrades, like a really nice encyclopedia feature making it a million times easier to find the meta info you need. It doesn't have a good message log, like the original did, which seem like a weird oversight...
It's good. if you like MntB then you'll probably be happy with this game.
I highly recommend it.

Pretty terrible game.

Your units are dumber than rocks. Their units are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ snipers. APCs and other mech units will literally hunt your character down from across the map. If you do manage to move your stupid troops close to a point they wont do ♥♥♥♥ but die, no one will push. You're too low level to use better weapons, so you just die and die and die until you finally pickup some rank that allows you to use a LAW or some ♥♥♥♥, very unrealistic, like a PFC cant fire a law?
I play a lot of rogulikes, I don't mind dying, but dying in this game is just outa the blue, the enemy knows your location and no mater how sneaky you are out of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ left field some tank round will sniper your ass off a roof building, or their troops will continuously spawn within 100 yrds of you, no mater how many you kill.
Very annoying, very stupid, don't buy.
OH, and the controls are absolutely ♥♥♥♥, you better remap your keys because their layout is trash.
The vehicle controls are the whackiest ♥♥♥♥ I've ever seen. Like trying to drive an avocado across the ice using a bass landing controller for the PS1. Except for the APC, that is the only vehicle that feels alright, the rest are retarded potatoes.
Don't waste your money.
The ♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs claim you're just another troop on the field, but if you don't attack the targets they have designated as the main target (even though they encourage you to take out the secondary targets) your troops will not hold the position and you'll lose ground, every time. so even though it APPEARS as if you can choose to flank or cut off the rear, you CAN NOT unless you want to lose hours of work, literal hours.
The enemy troops will spawn faster than you can kill them, but no mater what you do you'll have only a handful of troops to work with (who, again, will not do anything but die). Your player character has to take almost all the points (there are a few that will just fall in your lap, but over all if you don't personally do it it wont happen).
So, again. You're "just another troop", but in reality the entire game depends on where you are, BUT the game isn't designed for you to be anywhere but where the devs have pre-planned for you to be, so if you flank or whatever do not expect back up, but do expect overwhelming odds. a base claims to have ten troops, for example, you kill five, ten, fifteen, doesn't matter! Their pool never dwindles while yours is nonexistent.
Oh, and what is it with devs never shooting guns before putting them in games? Seriously, it does not take a trained troop over a two seconds to reload, I promise you. any troop worth anything can reload an assault rifle in under a second, so why does your character take for-♥♥♥♥♥♥-ever to get a mag in? come on. And if you do not believe me please feeeeeeel free to look up any video of marines doing speed reloads. It becomes like breathing, fast and easy. Not a five second ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lull in action.
you cant access your inventory while prone. You cant change weapons while prone, you cant throw a grenade while prone, you cant use the radio while prone... Why? those are all things you can do prone, those are things I have personally done prone... so... why? Why build a game with ♥♥♥♥ mechanics?
half of the game is not very well explained to you, RP, EXP, levels, items, and collectibles, not very well explained. Again, its not like I don't like vague systems. I've gotten the amulet of Yendor, I've made it far in nethack (demon souls be damned, Nethack is a tough game...), I "beat" Caves of Qud, I've built a palace in hell in dwarf fortress and defeated angels and commanded demons in adventure mode, I know hard games! I don't mind a game that gives you very little and expects a lot. So please believe me when I say that I can recognize a poorly designed game and distinguish it from a hard game. And this game was designed by morons.
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

it is not designed to be single player, so don't try. BUT the dumb ♥♥♥♥ devs didn't make it easy to host multiplayer games, so... you wanna win your campaign? Well you CAN NOT unless you lower the difficulty, spend over ten hours on some maps, or have friends help, but you cant have friends help because the dumb ♥♥♥♥ devs didn't provide halfway decent netcode.

like... did they play this before shipping? It is not worth you money. The idea is cool, and at moment you will think, yeah, this is fun. But overall you WILL NOT be thinking that. you will be thinking, "How the ♥♥♥♥ are we being overrun right now?" it makes, honestly, no sense where the enemy is coming from. NO SENSE. they materialize out of thin air and then your troops just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stand there and let them in.

DO. NOT. WASTE. YOUR. MONEY.

Played for just a few minutes, but it was long enough to be annoyed by this poorly designed game. It was terrible.

Way WAY to close camera view, Your first character in the tutorial literally screams every time you have her move, incredibly annoying. The ESC key does nothing, and the "back button" option is not in the same positions in the different menues, you also cannot control the camera with the keyboard, its hard to tell the difference between the selectable build options and the greyed out ones. Like who designed this thing, and did they intend to make it annoying to play? No thanks. I do not recommend this title.
