you know how everyone is saying that space marine 2 is a 2010 game in 2024 in the best of ways. Well, this game feels like a 2007 game but even better! its the closest we are getting to another new ratchet and clank game in a while. but still feels like its own thing and its so well put together as a port. I feel like a kid again playing a hidden gem on the 7th generation of consoles. no Drm, no extra amount of money needed, just you and the game. the combat is snappy and plays great on whatever controller you play on. the low poly style although a tad overused in most games. Works VERY well for the theme of robots in this game and adds on to it. 19 bucks for a game like this is a steal. play it and get ready for the ps3 vibes! 10/10 i want more of these two buckets of scrap.

this character demo has give me more fun than the sims ever could. i'm not the type to play these games. but with what these devs are doing is mind blowing. I await the release. the character creator is amazing.

all i say is that this is among one of the best warframe / borderlands clones ive played so far. guns feel beefy and actually has some challenging content. can't go wrong with the tag being free. though a bit of a warning, this is a nexon made game. a company with a long history of turning old games into a cashcow with little to no content . how ever long it takes for thd to make it their is a take you can make on your own. for me, its a light recommend as if you want to get the characters you want without having to spend. get ready for the grind. the upside is that every foe you kill gives you the shot of shiny new loot to pass the time. so enjoy!

TLDR: 7/10, fun world to explore, pawns are better than ever, amazing combat, repetitive enemy designs, hard for people not willing to learn the game rules.

Full review:
So after ten years of everyone waiting and only a few for me because i got into the series only a few years ago. I can say that although i do have big issues with the game. it is one of the best 7/10 games Ive played and truly a unique rpg. i can't really say it may win over the masses compared to even how elden ring had to lessen its tight grip on difficulty compared to the other souls like. Dragon dogma 2 plays how you loved or hated the first game. fast travel is earned ( if you don't fall for capcom's mico bs.) through grinding the gold needed for it and exploring the world as intended. Dragon's dogma puts a great rule of having the player play around with only one slot. meaning whatever choice you make you are STUCK with it and imo its a rule im ok with because it gives off a great feeling of urgency. you can't save scum yourself out of any choice.

Combat is top teir. outside of a few missing classes like assassin (rip). Fighter, Warrior, mage, archer, and thief all make a return with some neat revamps. Animations and move sets make all of these classes feel more great to play as. The warrior being my favorite because i can swing a horde of enemies off the ground with a swoop of my sword. or making my way on top of a big hulking monster as i stand on top of its head dealing a might blow to bring it all to its knees. To say i had fun would be an understatement. its been over a decade and its so hard to find other titles that can nail that feeling of topping a beast like this series can. even more so with the pawn system.

The pawns are back and work the same as the first game. you see the 100s of player made pawns that you can grab that'll support what kind of party you want. its the closest we get to coop but what makes pawns so cool this time around is how they are a lot more smarter. They'll point to hidden pathways you missed, chests, etc. they still chit chat and can be the source of annoyance to most people but it could be me being a
masochist but i dont mind them. it makes the party feel a tad bit more alive. the same can be said about the world you explore.

This is a great step up from the first game. the world is bigger to explore and never even 100 hours into it. I never got tired of wanting to explore everything i could do in my first play though. checking out caves, deep forests, and sand dunes. Exploration is worth while and have the possibility to bring in some memories when fighting foes. which sadly, leads to my issues with the game.

the enemy variation leaves a bit to be desired. you got your goblins, haunted skeletons and ghost in selected areas and at night time, stupid giant geckos, bandits, "low teir" dragons that tend to be the high point boss battles of the game, giant ogres, griffins, and chimeras. now, neat set of foes right. well, it is but for some reason, the game loves to just spit out at you NOTHING but goblins, thieves, harpies, and any variation of those big dumb geckos. the rock ones being the worst since you have to have to perform the process of flipping those things over to kill it. gets worst when the game throws 5 of these things all at once. I understand the counter-play you have to use. its just not fun. Fighting the same foes over and over again gets a bit tiring considering that this game has been in development for a while and this is all we fight for the most part. Hopefully some future content dlc will change things up. but coming off of games like palworld. a game made by a team FAR less compare to the 1000s of capcom developers. manage to come up with over hundreds of designs that even have their own animations and attacks. Hopefully, some content with fix this major concern.

Overall, ive greatly enjoyed my time playing this game only because i knew what i was getting myself into. a action rpg with a gameplay system that can be very hard on anyone who have not played the first game at all. on top of that this game having the WORST PC launch ive seen. which is weird because capcom have been the best when it come to porting over their games. like i said, its a rock solid 7/10 although a small part of me wishes it can be higher but some ideas in this game feel both buggy, some jank and a bit under cooked. but hey, maybe in dragons dogma 3, we can get dragons dogma 2.

Remade Malienia from Elden ring and now she is MY blade. amazing step up from the first game's maker. only issue i have is that the most dark red hair tends to be quite washed out compared to how it looked in the first. overall, the perfect way to start the dragon dogma 2 hypetrain!
