Early Access Review
Select a character, pick up your weapons and get right into the action. This fast-paced action platformer features a multitude of unique heroes, tons of stackable powerups and frequent, content-filled updates from a dedicated developer.

The aim of the game is simple: to survive. You are chased from room to room by a large, deadly drill crushing the roof above you. In these rooms, you must destroy crates and kill varied mobs for money and health, using the money to purchase chests containing powerups. Theses powerups are sorely needed, as enemies become harder to kill and the terrain more difficult to cut through. Every so often you are presented with a boss, whether it be a house-sized laser-firing eye, a roaring worm with rapid cannons or who knows what else. Dig deeper and you will unlock more characters and items, gather more powerups and have much more fun.

This game puts a smile on my face every time I start it up, and has quickly become one of my favourite indie games from the past decade. Buy it, play it, love it.

Good game, well made. Allows you to pick your own playing style and use it to the best of its abilities, with four base classes to choose from and all that other regular gubbins you always find. Leveling, stat improving, a whole host of weapons to choose from and a large open landscape to explore with something hiding behind every corner. The only problem I have with this game is the difficulty curve, which had me fighting bosses way above my level rather early on in the storyline - though this may only be my stubborness and refusal to stray from the sandy wastelands I learned to call "home". An immersive story is trumped by the fantastic gameplay, helped by the distinctive art style that makes Borderlands so damn good. Single player and co-op too. If you haven't already, buy it :D
