As someone who is only just coming to term with the fact that I like metroidvania's, this game is what finally sold me on the genera. I got this in the humble bundle, and had already been interested in it after finishing up the Dark Souls Trilogy and needed something else to do, but it is probably one of my favorite games of 2019

Positives:
-Atmosphere, level design, art style, music are all great. This is what got me initially interested was the idea of a Spain/Christian/Catholic lore focused game. Some of the images and characters are going to stick with me for a while. Rodento is probably my favorite NPC, his speech pattern and character is just very charming to me
-Controls were a little weird to learn at first, but after a few hours it felt so fluid and clean to move around the level. Occasionally I still would catch on ledges or not drop through the floor I was trying to, but that would probably have been improved if I played more or cared.
-Bosses feel satisfying, and I feel like most enemies felt appropriate difficulty for their location in the game.
-I am a huge fan of the fact that many storylines and one ending requires very obscure actions you might not even realize are available to you. Some people may hate that, but that was one of the things I loved about dark souls games.

If I had to give any negative feedback it would be:
-Spikes always insta killing you is really annoying, and some of the locations of them the camera makes it easy to miss that they are there
-I've had a few odd glitches that made me have to restart a section, such as getting hit upwards at a door transition and being stuck midair, or ledge grabbing the exact moment I landed on a platform leading to me stuck on a nonexistent ledge. I also one time got hit the moment I was about to jump and it killed my ability to dash or move in the air. All of these were fixed by quitting out and coming back in. There were also a few upwarps or things where I seemed to teleport somewhere.
-In the early-mid game, getting around can be annoying. If you take your time to find all the shortcuts and fast travel points this isn't a big deal, but there are a few places where it takes a pretty long time to get from point a to point b.
-Not sure if it was because I was using controllers but sometimes when I put in too many inputs at once I would get stuck doing for example and up slash while I was trying to jump.

If you want a AAA horror game experience to scare you, do not play this game.

If you want a goofy cut scene fulled, glitchy horror puzzle games, then this game is for you.

I enjoyed it, took me about 2 days worth of evening playing to get it done. The puzzles are usually straightforward, although some of them required you to locate objects that are hard to find or tell what exactly they should look like. My only issue is that the hints the game can give range from not even a hint and not helpful to literally telling you step by step what to do. It makes it kind of frustrating for the harder ones. Other than that and the night time stealth missions, the game is a pretty good cheap puzzle game if you can pick it up for a buck or two (or in a humble bundle, like I did)
