I'm currently at 106 hours at the time of my review, and so far I'm really enjoying the game. I have friends who aren't really into the survival genre who have gotten into the game, so I would say if survivals aren't necessarily your thing you should definitely give it a try. I have a group group of friends within a gaming community I play with, and we're all on everyday since launch splitting up responsibilities with one another and helping each other out with running POI's and Deep Dessert content.
-The NPC's are actually a challenge so you can't just rush in and face tank everything, you have to really play your life. The skills trees/class types make for a good "build your own" type spec, so nothing is really cookie cutter.
-Flying/Driving etc is really intuitive and super easy to catch on to.
-The story and quests are amazing but I'm a huge lore nerd so I really appreciate the time spent on this part and I really hope the drop mad DLC's to keep this part of the game functioning.
-PvP in the DD and at PvP enforced POI's is exciting to me and I think melee might still need a bit of work but it's certainly better than it was in the beta.

The only negatives I hear are (1) Ppl crying about PvP in the game with PvP (not even going to entertain this complaint bc you ppl are killing PvP in any game ever anymore) and (2) The "Desert Wipes"...it quite literally only happens in the DEEP DESERT, nowhere else is affected. It would be really dumb if all the trash ppl built in the DD stayed there, for the sake of functionality this needs to be this way. Again...it only affects the Deep Desert.

All in all I think it's a great game and definitely worth picking up.

If you like sim games and B rated horror vibes you'll enjoy this. The demo was good enough to make me want to play the real game.

Actually really love this game. A really good BR that ppl aren't playing.

I really really want to play this, but for some reason it's causing a Clock Watchdog Timeout bluescreen to occur and I just can't play it. Really bums me out. I'll come back and edit my review 100% if I can figure it out. I don't bluescreen while playing anything else, (and I play way more graphically intense games that demand much more of my system than this) so I'm confused. I'll leave comments open just in case someone knows what's happening.

The negative reviews are akin to boomers and their outrage over TikTok and their dAtA-mY pRiVaCy! ahhurr~. If you think that your "data/privacy" isn't messed with when it comes to Google, Apple, Android, Windows, Facebook, Twitch, X, Insta, etc. you're delusional af. The game doesn't ask for your "ID and social" either like I see some absurd reviews claim. I played the last demo/beta before this and had so much fun. I was actually bummed as hell when it was over and couldn't wait for full release. This is a breath of fresh air to the genre and the devs are responsive to community feedback. There's no P2W, but being as how the game is free there's a battle-pass if you'd like, and cosmetics ofc. There were 21 million pre-orders, the game is massively populated and it's day 1 so it's not without some growing pains/crashing issues, but if this isn't your first day on the internet you understand that. The game itself is so much fun, and I would completely ignore the review bombing bc it's absolutely not warranted. 10/10 I highly recommend this game.

If you truly love looter shooters, you'll like this game. A lot of ppl I see saying "this is repetitive, it's getting boring" I feel like the same can be said for any looter shooter really. Like Borderlands, after a time you're going to feel that repetitive vibe but it just kind of feels paced like any looter shooter imo. That's just how that genre goes. I enjoy this game, the animations and combat are satisfying and the world is fun to explore bc of the traversing.

The other negative I see ppl saying is complaints about it's non-canon behavior (I'm not going to spoil anything) but if you're going into this story with the mindset of "well this isn't canon" you're going to have a bad time. If you keep your mind open and take this games story and happenings for its own then there's nothing to complain about.

I'm only 10 hours in but I'll edit my review if something changes my mind. As I feel now I would recommend this game.

Edit: There's literally a quest titled "That's Not Canon"...yall are whining about something that's the way it's supposed to be....

I wish I could leave a 'maybe' or 'meh' as a review. If you're a seasoned MMORPG player I think you're gunna find yourself bored with combat, healing, PvP, and PvE content pretty quickly. If you're a first timer in the genre I think this is a decent place to start. Amazon made it really easy for anyone to pick up and play. I don't recommend it for certain people (seasoned MMORPG's players), and on the other hand I recommend it for certain people (first timers, or people who want something simple and easy). It's really buggy still, and the automated ban system is still being abused, and it was actually lied about to the player base. They claimed it was not automated and was indeed reviewed by people, players proved that to be false by their own means, you can read about it on reddit. I don't think the volume of people available at launch is a good indicator of success, people who play this genre are literally starved for new releases, we've had nothing for a long time, and when you're starved you'll eat anything. So it's a no for me personally, but there's a certain base that could enjoy it. Just super super mediocre, very much boomer vibes.

This game has tons of content and lots of hidden objectives/quests throughout. I love the co-op feature that was recently added, and there's a new 1.4 update coming soon, said to have tons of new content. There's a huge modding community that's active and supportive, as well as lots of helpful info for new players on Youtube, and open Discords. For a super chill really interesting experience, give it try for sure. Overwhelmingly Positive reviews for a reason <3
