best dead wife simulator

I have bought and refunded this game 3 times, each for every major update (this is my last since I can't refund it anymore). It's been basically the same experience each time. It's fun to dismember, dislocate, and disassemble people; then it's boring.

It becomes apparent that it's just a buggy mess with a bunch of random things that aren't fun. I realize that all weapons feel boring, gun handling is unsatisfying, hitting someone with a pillow is more impactful than any melee, and it's very flawed all around. This hasn't changed even since my first purchase.

At the moment, the best John Wick experience can be found in either (modded) Bonelab or Blade and Sorcery.

A great gateway into the genre of survival horror. Not too hard and not too easy, item management that's easy to ♥♥♥♥ up if you're not careful, the perfect amount of backtracking and exploration, and overall scary while not taking itself seriously at some times. :)

I knew this game was not the best and that MOB Games has a lot of controversy but I still went in with a clear mind.

It's safe to say that it did not help this game. The puzzles are intuitive but boring, no real excitement from figuring out what to do. The ambiance was pretty creepy and the music was nice. The chase was loud and annoying, having the player take multiple turns with a high chance of dying the first time. Everyone should know death is a way to break tension and make chases comical, that point is extremely evident here.

I could go into other things like the NFT themed ARG, the stealing of designs/story, and other topics but this review stays within the game's boundaries. No matter what, this game was not worth it for 5 dollars and provides a shallow experience either way.

Pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to lower a games price when people have already bought said game. EA moment much?

Update 2:

I love the game but it's still too hard. My 3 friends literally got stomped by Big Chunk on day 6. I had armor and we were playing on easy mode. Maybe a way to change world settings like day and night cycle time or how much damage an enemy does would help. You could also just allow players to start a boss when they feel like it?

Old review:

So far I like the game but the lack of saving and the difficulty even at normal mode doesn’t really seem fair. Giant rock golems started spawning on day 4 and the kangaroo zombie things were a pain in the ass. Also coal should be a mineable resource and other places like caves should be implemented.

Other than that it’s really good. I like the hit sounds and seeing the number of damage I do. It’s just really satisfying.

Edit: Also noticed that buildings are really easy to destroy and enemies are harder to hit when other objects are near.

Another edit: Me and my friend lasted till day 5 when Big Chunk showed up. We were playing on normal difficulty. This game seems way too hard for normal mode.

This game is a literal workout in a good sense, you'll be swinging your arms as a gorilla and laughing with friends as a... gorilla. The community is friendly from what i've seen and it's free so what's the point in not trying it? The game does feature heights to fall from and the movement is completely physics based so just be aware you might get motion sick (unless you never get motion sick like me).

The one criticism is that it's hard to learn. Walljumping is very hard for me so a tutorial mode (like when you first start up the game) will help.

The ranking system is non-existent and anti-cheat is a myth.

The regular game is fun but if there's a level 100 person destroying level 1-10 people there's a problem.

Hackers are also hard to find out since level 100 people are either pros or hackers.

Here's what I think: Get an anti-cheat and make a ranking system based on stats.

I'm only not recommending the matchmaking the normal game has a lot of gamemodes and a lot of fun to have.

A level editor also allows for the community to make maps for free.

Final thoughts: Only play custom games with friends until the developers give you a chance to win.

This game is amazing with the horror having actual thought put into it. Instead of cheap jumpscares you get great sound design and amazing atmosphere.

Sound Example: When walking in the house there is a sudden change and you feel like you're in a completely different environment, not just different as in "Woah i'm somewhere else," as in "This house is filled with evil."

Atmosphere Example: When you enter a match you will understand how dark it is and how shadows can play a big role in messing with the player. I've seen shadows from ghosts being projected but i've also had a handful of times where I thought I heard a ghost near me (indicated by a heartbeat sound) but it was just me being on edge with my 140BPM real heart.

Not scary all the time: If you have a couple of friends and some cash, you can all just have a good time not only getting scared but laughing to try to make the situation feel less scary. I don't play this game just to be scared, sometimes it's to just laugh with my friends and it's what makes this game special.

Criticisms: The game can have bugs and be glitchy sometimes. When it does glitch, it does HARD. I once had a moment where my mic would stop working after every match so I had to wait for an update to patch that. There was a rampant glitch where the ghosts would just not hunt and only flicker your lights (this only happened on medium maps for me). I recommend playing on the beta unstable build of the game. Most of the glitches have been fixed.

Ending and Conclusion: This game is amazing and you can make really special stories out of it. Any co-op game that can do that gets an instant recommend from me!

I got this game on sale for $3.99 on November 29, 2020. I've heard about this game before and have heard of its reputation and I was hyped to play it. When I finally got it, my expectations turned into reality. Keep in mind I have only played the first hour of this game up until the Back Halls and Storage, yet I still have this good review. (I will be updating this review as I play the game or if someone notifies me about a mistake i've made)


The gameplay is an assortment of puzzles, managing your inventory, hiding and running from monsters, and finding items. It's not the best but if this is your first time playing, you will probably be out of oil, low on sanity, and low on health. The game gives away many items but some are very secretive and are hidden behind physics objects, this gets difficult to do since the monsters hear where you are if you are thrashing objects around. The puzzles are mostly just finding item and putting item into thing, or just flicking switches and pushing or pulling stuff. The monsters are not that easy to run past as they can outrun you after a while of spotting you, so the best way is to play it stealthy and hide in the shadows and behind objects, but that's not the best idea since hiding in the shadows lowers your sanity, speaking about sanity...


I feel like this is the most important feature of this game, the main character is not just some person who can go through a near-death experience and walk away completely fine. Seeing monsters and unsettling events can make you lose your sanity and this can make certain events happen, such as hearing noises and seeing stuff that isn't there. On top of that: the main character has nyctophobia (the fear of the dark). So staying in the dark, which is a very common thing if you don't have oil or tinderboxes, will make your sanity lower.


YOU SHOULD PROBABLY PLAY THIS ON THE REMASTERED MOD IF YOU HAVE A BEEFY PC AND A LUST FOR GRAPHICS.

The graphics still look pretty good today, but it's heavily unoptimized for a new PC. I have a GTX 1050 and an i5-8300H 2.30 GhZ running on Windows 10 64-bit and I ran the game well after turning of smoothing, ssao, world reflection, and running the game on compatibility mode Windows 8. You can probably run this better than me, but this is a warning just in case any other users get any problems. Anyways, the game looks really nice today and you'll probably have no problem running it on your PC.


The music really gives the feeling of dread and it can be absolutely terrifying and beautiful at the same time.
