This game is really great if you like slower more methodical PVP games, and of course like ships. There's really a lot of effort put into making the ships look good, and the soundtrack is great too. The game can be really punishing if you play poorly, but if you get better and play well it is very rewarding and a lot of fun.

The game doesn't really start until you get a tier 5 ship (which would probably take 4-8 hours), before which you'll mostly play with bots. In that regard I'd recommend at least playing until getting a tier 6 ship to decide what you think of the game. The grind for higher tier ships is long, especially if not spending money, but it is still quite doable, and most of the ships along the way are fun to play.

There are 5 main classes and many countries to choose from, offering a lot of different experiences and suiting different play styles. There are ships that can only be obtained via spending money, and some of them are overpowered, but generally they aren't necessarily better than free ships. The game isn't pay to win, a good player with a mediocre ship will far outperform a bad player in an overpowered ship. However, if a good player has an overpowered ship, well, it'll take them farther. There are many strong or overpowered free ships too though!

DD: Gearing (USA), Daring (UK)
