Spiral Knights immediately draws the player into the game by its use of bright, vivid colors and the option to customize the player's character. The use of simple controls makes the character very easy to control, however the enemies are surprisingly more difficult to defeat once the player progresses to lower depths within the Clockworks. The one thing that is most enjoyable is this game is the nearly endless possibilities of functional armor customizations that are offered. Every enemy type has its strengths and weaknesses, and while mentioning this, there is also a good amount of skill that is required (and acquired!) by playing Spiral Knights. Everything starts off extremely simple, but once lower depths are entered, there are bosses that have to be defeated in a certain way; otherwise, dire consequences will be met. For example if the player is battling the Royal Jelly, one would need to bring a poison-inflicting weapon into battle. By doing this, the Royal Jelly will be poisoned and will not be able to be healed by the Mini Jelly Cubes, which happens constantly, as the Mini Jellies come out of spawners roughly about once per three seconds.
In short, what makes Spiral Knights enjoyable is its ever-changing gates that lead into the Clockworks which give a new environment each day so the game doesn't get stale and boring.
