Didn't expected this to be a gacha, but played it because for Kodaka. I like the mixture of media between pixel art and 3d models for combat and dialogue. There is a lot of dialogue but some important enough to pay attention for the gimmick of the game; baseball. For a gacha standpoint, it could be better from what I read other reviews about the beta.

The over the top animations during the baseball segments are really great, combat mechanic flow feels nice and not pushovers. The story is above average in concept, but I really like the characterizations so far and the interactions between characters.

It is free game, so just play the game for fun in paces imo.

Awesome franchise that shaped a part of my childhood. Giving it a big recommend to try out the whole franchise. I have no issues on my end from what I'm seeing other reviewers are posting. I would recommend tuning down graphics and vsync off if your machine is struggling.

At the moment this game isn't performing to my expectations from my little bit of play through with DD1, of course I expected this with denuvo within the game, but I'm barely making a constant 30-60ish frames with both low and high graphic settings (and experimenting lots for the first hour to make sure). Real frame dip is, of course, within towns or crowded areas with many npcs, especially battles really needs to have a constant fps but seems like 3-4 goblins (plus my pawns) really tank it hard. I also have some trouble with audio popping to actually cutting my audio off till I have to reconnect it so it'll work again lol!

Features like exporting my pre-made character worked for the first time, but did not work afterwards (and so does the pre-made pawn didn't work). Plus basic save file deleting, or 'new game', should be absolutely be on the menu, I don't get why that's missing from the get-go. I get it if it's just following back from the first game, but that was 2013 (and it had 'new game'!). Please don't bend backwards on old game philosophies.

Other than that the cut scenes and the English voice acting is great! I wish the game can run smoothly as those, I'll probably pick this game back up after many patches. Other than that $70 is not worth your time with this state of this game now. I know this will be good, but performance is really bad.

Couldn't play this without stuttering and fps issues, spent an hour finding and installing workarounds but all in all it worked for a little bit before post-hydra where everything started to stutter again. I find the game's potential and appeal, so I'll just wait and buy DD2 eventually (Capcom please stop ruining your gems with Enigma DRM)

Edit: I can play this game now, turning off anti-aliasing (and adjusting nividia) plus for some reason this game wants me to stick to my keyboard and mouse. I'll still stick with my original negative response because I had to go through shoots and hoops to play this thing normally. Still hyped for DD2 though.

Finished story as of now, best game I've played this year so far and I played through re2 remake a week before game release. Giving this game a 10/10. As one who hasn't played the originals, very fun game if one hasn't tried a re game before. Recommend to play re2 first before playing this game to get the connections and references in this game. :)
