This is how remakes/remasters of games should be done. It builds upon the experience of the original, adding extra gameplay features and events that play on the expectations of the player based on their memories from playing the original, making the ultimate experience to have played the original and than this. Having said that, if you are a fan of the survival-horror genre then this is the ultimate example of it. Moody and atmospheric and gameplay fraught with danger, jumps and unexpected enemies this game will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout. The deeper into the lore you delve the sadder and more poignant the experience.

This is a fantastic update to an old favorite game. The camera angle is now third-person behind the shoulder viewing bringing it in line with the fantastic Resi 4. Despite the control change the game is even more frightening than ever before and not, for a change, because of the control system. There is a mix of brightly lit environments and dark, creepy, suspenseful ones. Zombies lunge out of windows at you leaving you more enemies to kill and windows to board up. The animations of the zombies are great, with different body types moving in different ways. The only downside is that sometimes, when multiple zombies of the same type are clustered together, you see a strange synchronisation of their movements. if you are new to the game, or remember it fondly, give it a go.
