To my old friend Malent, Im sorry we lost contact with each other over the years. I only recently learned of what has happened and it hit me very hard.

I am proud to have known and played with you when gaming was actually fun compared to what it's become now.

I miss our chats on xfire, our games of splinter cell, bf2142 and of course the early tf2 days.

You were a class act and a very smart guy, I see that your kindness has continued to touch all the people you came across in life and I know all miss you greatly.

I was right about something I said back in 2004 - 2005, Malent has got talent.

R.i.p buddy, I'll never forget you, you were one of the Best, most importantly you were my Friend.

Hey Malent,
I hope you are doing well wherever you are at this point. I enjoyed our season of highlander together and I think we both got better as we learned about our respective weaknesses. The medic always takes the most flak on a team and you received plenty when playing on the Squirtle Squad. However, like everyone else in this thread has said, you were not an angry person and when pressured you strived to be better. In our final match against John Madden, you played better then I had ever seen you play before and made smart decisions such as switching medi guns quickly and making it hard for our enemies to target you. I'm glad to have known and played with you.

I just found out about this, and I'm so, so sorry to hear it. I just want to say that Malent was one of the few consistently kind and reliable people out there. We had countless scrims with him and his team. He was always there for his team and mine, and regardless of the outcome, he was always a good sport.

Michael. I never got a chance to really talk to you the final week with work being busy at that time. I've been thinking about you a lot lately up at work. There are still things that I posted up on the wall, like your mother having your shirts turned into a blanket for your room that are still up. Every day I think about you. Every day I miss you.

You know, one day some guy you don't know came up to you and told you about an idea he had for a team that would win first place. You believed in that guy far more than he believed in himself. That pushed the guy to go through with the team and that idea ended up becoming a reality. I cannot thank you enough for the few things in my life that I have done and felt good enough about myself that you made that happened. Thank you so much Mike, I will never ever EVER forget the time I got to know you as a human being, you helped me grow as a person and I really want to thank you for making me the guy I am.

Malent, my friend. You were the nicest, most kind hearted person I ever met through my 15 seasons of UGC. You taught me so much about the game and about life. Patience, acceptance, and confidence. We had good times and bad and you were always positive regardless of the times we had. I hope your family and friends can pull through this terrible loss and keep the good times close to their hearts. You were a true friend to all of the TF2/UGC community and you will be deeply missed. Malent was one of those rare people that was always friendly towards others, he'd always try to keep positive regardless of how bad a match went and wouldn't speak ill of anyone. I will sorely miss our chats and will be thinking of you every time I start a game of Civ VI that we never got to play together.

Thanks for posting about Malent's passing. We had some good laughs and some great talks over the course of TF2/UGC. He always tried to treat people well and fairly, he felt stressed frequently after games becaues he cared too much at times. I always got a laugh when he said "Malent has Talent" to every person who he felt grossly mispronounced his name or when he did something cool. He'll be missed.

Good times, great games. Wouldn't have got my medals without you kid. Requiescat.

It is with heavy heart that I inform the steam community and the Team Fortress community that this past monday November 14th, 2016... we lost our friend. I'm not sure what the best way to reach out and inform everybody out here who was involved with Michael outside of posting on here. Hopefully this can quell some worries.

Once his obitiuary information is released I'll post the information on here as well. Thanks for being a part of this great mans life.
