This game is $6 and I still feel like I got ripped off. It's a game demo with a $6 price tag slapped onto it. The only good thing I can give this game is how it starts. The tension you feel when they close that hatch is handled pretty well. But after the half way point it just becomes overly repetitive. All of that repetitiveness for a .5 second encounter with a Jpeg is NOT worth it

I'm writing this review the moment I got back to the ship from the vault. This review is based on the Jedi Master difficulty.

One thing I really do like about this game is it's style. It hammers home the Star Wars feel perfectly. I haven't played enough to comment on the story since I have only just returned from the vault. But it looks like there's a lot of tidbits of information and lore scattered throughout the world, making it feel like an actual place that has it's own history

But, as I'm sure you've heard multiple times already, this game just feels like a buggy attempt at a dark souls game. The combat is inconsistent, the blocking and rolling feels sluggish, the platforming is terrible, the performance is abysmal.

One example of the horrible combat is Oggdo Bogdo:
First off, during the first half of the fight his unblockable attacks have no red glow. So that caught me off guard tremendously until I learnt the animations for the unblockable attacks.

The blocking and parrying in this fight was the most inconsistent I have ever seen in a video game.
Most of the time the boss would slide past the parry, colliding with my hitbox and sliding me back a bit, but not actually hitting my parry. Either that would happen or my block would be unresponsive all together.
The Jedi Master difficulty feels way to unbalanced. The damage you take feels fine, but parrying feels way to easy. There were moments I was actually surprised I executed a parry because I put my block up multiple seconds before an attack hit.

Next, when you die to this boss, the walk back is pretty annoying due to the bad platforming, but still forgiving. However, the fact that when you attack the boss again your game slows down and control of your character freezes up for a short while because "HEY LOOK YOU GOT YOUR EXP BACK!" is absolutely stupid game design that throws players off. Coupled with the bad performance and frequent FPS drops, this is a deadly poison to the game.

The rolling feels incredibly sluggish. This may be due to the fact that you need to double tap B to roll, unlike Dark Souls where your backstep automatically switches to a roll if you are holding down a direction. This feels like a complete down grade from Dark Souls.
And what do you get for defeating this boss? Some exp and a pink poncho! Definitively worth my time and sanity! Keep in mind some players wont even get the pink poncho because the Scomp link won't be repaired at the time.

The platforming feels like a worse attempt at Breath of the Wild. Sometimes climbing is unresponsive, moving to balance on an object is incredibly sluggish and feels like it takes an eternity, especially when my character starts dancing at the start of a pipe slowly sliding onto it like he has stage fright, and when you go to use a zipline or run across a wall your character may decide that the ground 1000 ft below looks like a better option.
This part may just be me, but some sections of the first planet are really confusing. Some walls appear to be ridges to wall run on, but when you try you end up sacrificing a bit of your health because that ridge was in fact not a ridge.

To compliment how bad the platforming is, the level design is subpar as well. The first planet is just a series of winding cliffs and corridors that all look the same. And with the worst attempt at a holomap I've ever seen, the planet is barely navigable without a prior understanding to the layout.

And lastly, Origin. Why the ♥♥♥♥ do I need a separate gaming software to run this game?

This is more of a rant for me then a review. I'll update this the more I play and pray to god it turns into a positive review.
