History

The creation of this spell was finished by the Netherese archwizard, Karsus, in −340 DR, and fatefully used the one and only time the following year, causing the Fall of Netheril.[5] Karsus's original notes regarding its creation were never found. Whether the gods were able to defend against the spell, or were aware of its casting, are unknown. Karsus spent well over a decade researching this spell.
