Isaac graphics with a mini arena character builder. Hundreds of items, 62 different playable characters. Satisfying sounds effects and not bad music. 40 second rounds and 20 rounds in a game or go endless and see how long you live. Definitely worth the price

Chess meets Mech auto-battler. It's east to get the hang of and perplexing to master. This is really unlike any other game out there and the community is awesome! It's totally worth the price. If you aren't sure check out someone playing it on twitch. It's east to get the hang of and perplexing to master. You can't just buy some mech and slap them down, positioning is key!

- Hardcore community that is full of great people.
- 6 regional tournaments each week hosted within the game.
- The devs are super active and you will catch them playing all the time.
- The head developer "Bearlike" Streams and chats with the community on Twitch every week
- The micro-transactions are only cosmetics.

The only thing that would be cool is if the skins they had were actually skins instead of re-paints of the existing model, but I could understand how completely different models could throw some people off

Super fun rogue-lite with tons of creative meta-progression. Just when you think you are about to reach most of the unlocks, a whole new part of the game unlocks. It is bullet hell, but limited bullet-hell IMO as the battles are quick and there are good breaks between.

It's currently my go to game for a fun chill rogue-lite dungeon crawl

Positives:
+ Huge number of characters with unique abilities
+ Hundreds (soon, most likely, thousands) of items and loads of enchantments (Prefixes)
+ Many worlds (level variants) to explorer
+ Amazing build potentials with meta interactions between traits and items
+ Will keep you playing with that "just one more run" addictive fun
+ Quick games 30-45 minutes to complete a run
+ Very active dev that interacts with the community and is very open to suggestions
+ Fun sound track

Negatives:
- Could have more tool tips to better explain items (but this is getting much better)
- Sometimes it's hard to tell what effects and attacks are friendly vs what are enemy
- A couple items have some annoying sound effects, but it's bound to happen with so many unique sounds in an 8bit world

This game is so awesome. Simple yet incredibly in-depth. If you ever have wanted to MMO raid and heal, but don't want to waste time LFG or breaking through to a boss or waiting for spawns, you HAVE to play this. It is worth every penny of the price. You will thank your future self for buying this game now.

This game is amazingly addictive. Auto-fire weapons deal with the hordes of enemies as you try and survive and gain power-ups long enough to take some gold out and buy new characters. Rogue-like abilities/power-ups and tons of unlocks. Some characters and weapons are loosely based on the Castlevania series enough to pay some homage to the the games. Worth every penny of the $2.99 price.

I really wanted to like this game, but I can't. It's kinda cool with the premise and the advancement, but the gameplay is really bad.

First off it is just hard to see much. You can to play and die a couple times just to understand what the map is supposed to look like because everything is dark and foggy. Just look at the screenshots above. The dark and fog would be okay if this was a story driven game that builds suspense, but its straight up FPS waves of enemies so you end up running into some object you can't see and get killed. You run into object all the time because objects that look like you would be able to get past or jump over like a coffin block your movement. You can jump in this game, but I'm not sure why because you can't jump over anything. If you can't walk over it you can't move of jump over it.

You get killed because if the enemies catch up to you and are in melee range the camera is messed up and it's like they are under you. I've gotten killed because something is hitting me, I'm stuck on some object, and I look in all directions and see nothing... then I look down and there is the the 6ft zombie that was chasing me a while back only comes up to my waist and the camera can't see it.

The other frustrating thing is when you get consecutive headshot kills you go into a "Rage". I think this adds damage to your hits or something, but what it really does is make navigating the dark foggy map that you get caught on objects in slow down as a brief Pain Killer like affect goes off, but only for a second, and that thing you were trying to aim at and shoot, is no longer in your crosshairs because the crosshairs stop following your mouse for a second and then goes back to normal speed. I looked for a way to turn this off because when I was dying it was directly caused be this effect. There is no way to disable it so you will never get that "In the Zone" feeling with this game. It is as if your mouse sensitively is halved for 1 second every time you get 2 HS kills.... and this is a game where you are on a static map and the monsters spawn in waves. If I could have disabled this effect I would have played the game more, but this effect was too much on top of everything thing else.

Also, when you are picking your weapon load out for the map you can't see the stats of the weapons you are picking. Like no values, graphs, bars, or anything. Just a picture and a name. There is even a TIP telling you if you want to see the stats of the weapons go to the upgrade menu..... That's right, navigate to another menu where you dynamically upgrade the stats and levels of your weapons. So you can have a 6th level submachine gun doing the same damage as an AK47, to know which one you should pick for the map you are playing you have to memorize the stats, because there is no way to compare weapon stats when you are picking your load out.

Your skill perks add combat values to your character and weapons, but they are never actually calculated anywhere you can see the values change. You just have to do the math in your head, and of course skills and character stats are in yet more menus.

Another thing is how slow you move. You have to just run everywhere, because your walk is like you are walking with a broken leg.

GET THIS GAME!

This game is totally addicting and rediculously diffucult at the same time. You attempt to save a hamlet from dark forces by leading flawed adventurers, 4 at a time, through turn based dungeon crawls. Stress level, which is almost better than health, is a big factor in success as is torchlight and the gear you bring. If a character stresses out too much he can start acting out and can TPK your group.

Characters have good and bad traits that are permanent and gain more as they progress. These traits play a major role in the effectiveness of the character and the only way to get rid of the bad is to pay for the character to go to the Sanitarium. I've had to start over 3 times now and mostly because I ran out of cash to fix my crew, but I keep going back for more.

The game is simplistically flawless in execution, and the more you play the more you find out how important the little details make and how much skill goes into leading a successful guild. You find yourself trying to balance upgrading your town and guild members with funding their stress relief activites and paying to purge them of the horrible disease or personality trait they just picked up in the dungeon, or in the church, or bar, or.... you get the point!! There is a wonderful dark humor overtone that really adds to the experience. The game is saved realtime, and every action including death is permanent. You will fail and die, possibly frequently. Upgrade your town, upgrade your guild members, and eventually make your way to the "Darkest Dungeon."

This is a great turn-based, story line driven, single player, RPG. Hours of play time and great fun to be had regardless if you have played the pen and paper game or not. This game has a really in-depth and very captivating plot, but there are no voice overs. So as long as you don't mind some reading, I definitely recommend adding this to your library.

Very addicting game that combines an open world rpg and dungeon crawler with a rogue-like play style. Do you like old school rpg rogue style games? Then you should buy this game now before you regret not doing so earlier once you finally purchase it. You don't have to regret lost play time! If you too have suffered from GR (Gamers Regret), your not alone. Buy this game today and show the world your support in the fight against GR!
