Okay, I've given this enough chances, and I'll probably play more since some of my friends enjoy the game but I'm not recommending it.

What a damn shame, you make a game with a good engine, amazing atmosphere, great premise, rock hard objectives - then you mess up the bit which could have provided some of the most fun. The combat.

You've these wonderfully malformed enemies in the game, even invisible ones are cool, but the combat, fighting them is a exercise in frustration, and it's for a multitude of reasons.

- The weapons feel crap, they feel under powered and useless.

- The limitations on ammo are just a little too harsh, not even STARTING with full ammo is just a gash design decision.

- Headshots on enemies will remove the head, and characters even state, "go for headshots" but then the enemy can operate without a head... forever... like it's not a few hits before it dies, it's literally not dead.

- Those bloody things that shoot weird fast homing bullets have some of the most inconsistent hit registration on their missiles that I've ever seen, sometimes hitting you behind cover.

- The game will sometimes just toss crap at you after 40 minutes of doing a mission as if it wants to see you suffer.

Now, if all of the above is intention game design, well done, you've designed a game that isn't fun for me, sorry, I'm out - you've missed the mark, you had all the right ingredients, but it's come out wrong.

Almost there....

If this game was still just as hard, but had good, enjoyable combat, it would be an utter gem. As it stands, a very key core element for me is so frustrating, that I don't wish to play it. A great looking game, full of unique ideas, ruined by poor design all in the name of appearing hardcore.

Excellent game, much more logic over luck, great soundtrack, works fine on the Deck and Linux, outstanding.

I'm loving the little twists each character brings to the table in terms of fighting style. 100% recommend. :-)

Played with 4 friends, absolutely hilarious. What a dumb idea for a game, but boy it was a laugh.

It's janky, silly, and just about put together well enough to work. Could do with more variation in the jumps and puzzles you have to do - but I mean, it was £4 or something, well worth it.

Done twice now, it's okay, decent with Friends, recommended when it's cheap. You're getting maybe 5 or 6 hours out of this in a run and you'll get a giggle or two on the way.

Graphics are decent in places, some of the maps are super fun, others are much less fun, verging on annoying and unfair.

Worth it to experience the weirdness and horror, just don't expect super balanced refined game play here; it's very rough around the edges.

I enjoy this more than Slay the spire, they're both great games, especially on the Steam Deck, I find myself having a better time on this than StS which at this point is so ultra-refined and overbalanced that only a handful of tactics will win on higher levels.

MT is easier in this regard, you'll stand a better chance of maxing out the book here, which for me personally, I like.

Still excited for StS II, but this is my goto card game until I find something better.

Review initially positive, switched to negative when Sony insisted everyone needed a PSN account, this didn't impact me directly, but did exclude some of my friends online from playing the game, thus, impacting me, I'd rather dump the game than not play with them.

Review then changed back to positive, since, at this time, the community lash-back actually turned the decision around, not in months or weeks, but a single weekend - a true victory.

So, at this time, I recommend the game, because it is a damn good laugh with friends, but be aware, this happened - and something just as ♥♥♥♥♥♥ could happen again in the future.

A very shallow cash grab made popular through canny twitch and you tube advertising and appealing to children and idiots - like me. I wish I'd figured it out .9 of an hour earlier so I could refund it.

The graphics are hideous, not even charmingly so, they just suck, visibility is non-existent to hide the god awful animation and models. Entity behaviour is entirely random and counter-less, or so obscure you basically wander around in the dark until you are murdered, after which there's nothing to do. It's funny listening to your friends try and contact you... the first time, after that you end up spinning up Netflix or something because your bored, at which point you have to ask yourself, is this a good use of time?

We basically figured out how to beat the game reliably within a couple of hours, anyone with a reasonably good set of explorers and somebody good on the terminal and you just avoid the red dots, stick to the safe spots. Since there's no method to "out play" the entities there is simply no point engaging with them.

As I write this review DOOM 2016 is on sale for £3.99, LESS THAN THIS HEAP of rubbish. You'll boot DOOM up and be amazed at the fluidity of the graphics and refinement of the genre... or you could cry yourself to sleep and buy this instead.

Don't bother, don't be like me, learn from my mistakes, don't be suckered into the latest craze, Avoid.

Not for me. Back in the day I bought Operation Flashpoint and did it to death, even made my own missions on it, then of course on to Arma, back then you accepted the jankyness and sparse maps because of the technology of the time and what you were being given for that.

Today I expect better.

Hell Let Loose, here's what you'll experiance.

+ Experienced players camping an area just shooting you as you pass by, good luck trying to locate them without getting shot again and again.

+ Long respawn times, like at times 50 seconds, and god forbid should you miss pressing the "redeploy" button because you'll be waiting another 50 seconds.

+ ZERO respawn protection, and this is completely short sighted and lazy design, in a game where the enemy can and absolutely will farm you over and over, combine that with the minute long timer before you are back in the action and we're already on the road to a wasted evening.

+ Spawn somewhere else, decide to do something else, I know, I'll go destroy that artillery that seems to be pounding our team, so off you go, you succeed, yes, you feel good, you took out the guys on the guns. Can you nuke the artillery, NOPE, so I either sit there and camp the guns whilst watching netflix or return to the fight only to have them start again.

+ Exceptionally lazy map design, huge wide open areas EVERYWHERE with very narrow ways to cross (if any) so you're naturally forced to either follow that one low wall, or do what everyone else seems to do and take a massive walk around the very edge of the map and shoot inward at all the people playing the objective.

+ For a game with so little cover you'd think you could easily run over things right? No, that tiny rock on the floor, STOPS YOU DEAD because of dumb invisible blockers, again, lazy, sloppy design.

+ Maps again, literally during a map which featured a town I entered a house which looked to have had 2 copies of itself placed inside itself making it very jarring and hard to navigate, of course, guess where all the veterans go? To the attic of this house which is nigh on impossible to assault because it's like being inside Constantines mansion.

I play with a group of good friends and we can normally eek some enjoyment of of any game - we do well working as a team and we go with the spirit of whatever we're playing, but hell let loose, for me at least, is not fun; it is not fun because of how the game is designed - and the utter lack of effort that has been made into making the theatres in which you play engaging and interesting.

Went in blind, I mean, I knew of the game, and the reviews were excellent. Brilliant came, I can tell you nothing or it'll ruin it, but it's basically a mystery game, pay attention, look for things, solve buy ruling in or out.

I had a great time with this one, a wonderful change from shooting bad guys or blowing stuff up, I appreciated the hand crafted story.

The game runs very well on the steam-deck, you cannot run it with half-shaders though because the art style goes all blocky, I suggest looking at the community layouts for controls as the stock ones are pants.

Minor gripe is you can't adjust the resolution at all, and the graphics can make your eyes kinda go funny after a bit, but it's part of the charm I guess. Doesn't not therefore support ultra-wide, you get black lines.
