Alright.. so Heroes and Genarals seems to get a lot of hate for beeing what it is, thats why im writing this review.

So the first impressions of the game might not be all that good with it not beeing a graphical Masterpiece like Battlefield 1 for example. The animations, moovement and the guns feel a little strange at the beginning aswell, but you get used to it really fast.

Now i have heard a lot of people complain about the grind that you have to do to unlock decent equipment and guns.
I want to write about that really quick:
1) Yes, you actually have to grind to get guns. The better the gun, the longer you have to grind for it.
2) Yes, guns, camouflages, vehicles and other equipment is really expensive.
3) The actual grind for the guns doesnt take that long at all, it's the money that gets a lot of people into frustration from my experience.

So instead of just blowing away all your credits for some weapon modifications you should maybe go into the forums or on youtube and look at some beginner guides.

Alright, now about my experience:
To me Heroes and Generals brings back those nice memories from Battlefield 3, where you actually had to play the game to make some progress.
Heroes and Generals is a little more 'hardcore' with that, but still.

The Fractions are nicely balanced and you really have to work as a team to win.
There are plenty of things to grind for and you can easily blow 1500+hrs into each fraction untill you are happy with your soliders.
I reallly like the solider customization where you have to play with each solider to unlock individual guns, camos and vehicles.

In total i would give this game a solid 8,5/10 because there are not that many maps, some content (for example the german Airplanes) are lacking a little bit.
Also the game could use a proper matchmaker since beginners sometimes end up getting totally destroyed by veterans.

But all in all it's a really fun and rewarding game if you actually take your time to learn how the game works.

Airplanes are fun and fair, but if you want to play tanks its just pay 2 win in the higher tiers.

I mean how fair is it that you buy those tanks that you always wanted, but they come with a gun that cant hit ♥♥♥♥, there is no fire extinguisher in the tanks stock form, the ammo you start out with is just simply put trash(at least in most tanks) and you cant even repair your tank when its damaged.

All of those modifications need to be researched and it takes days of frustration and grinding to get a single upgrade.
Or you could skip that and just spent some money into the game by unlocking those mods with the klick of a button....

And then there is the matchmaker.. oh boy..
You just want to have some fun in your 1945 tank and what are you facing? You guessd right: 1950-60 tanks that you just cant defeat. ATGM's sitting behind every hill, just waiting for someone to peak, tanks with way better armour, way better guns, way better ammo, way better reload rate and so on.

Also most maps for tanks have a horrible design and feature a lot of bullsh*t (example: Houses you can get shot thrugh without you even seeing the enemie).

Now for real here: I have played this game a lot more than my Steam shows, because i got the game from the official website when it wasnt available on steam.
If you are looking for some nice Aircraft action, fun battles and a huge variety of planes to grind thru, this game is a 9/10 with only the hit-reg sometimes screwing up things a little.
On the other hand however, stay away from the hightier tanks, the grind gets unreal and you will be frustrated constantly if you dont spend real money.

This is my oppinion after unlocking (almost) every vehicle in the game and ~4000 hours on record, i hope it helped.

Game so unappealing, i downloaded it just to give it a negative review.
