Great time for solo or with friends. Operations mode is as casual and sweaty as you want it to be. Warfare I have mixed thoughts on. the rush variant sucks, conquest variant is good, the new limited Blitz mode is amazing.

FOR THE EMPEROR!!!

EDIT:EDIT:

Devs balanced a bit and active worth the money and time spent.

Game is great having a fantastic time in a power fantasy only warhammer could create.

There are however pro and cons that I will discuss quickly.

PROS and Cons

-Campaign + Co-op Campaign: Its glorious, good story, if you join a friend you have your own dialogue and thoughts for the character you play BUT it does not complete your own campaign if you join a friend.

-Gameplay cycle is good and there is power scaling and for PvE the missions run alongside the campaign story which is awesome BUT only 6 missions at launch to repeat. Like most other PvE mission games but more or generative missions with a cycle of objects with same maps with different paths would have been cool, it feels too confined like darktide/vermintide. Could have been a bit more dynamic since we are more like deathwatch than the Ultramarine side groups in the story. But it makes sense for lore. Hopefully future mission types can be like deathwatch and drop into different scenarios.

-cosmetics are thourough and you feel badass as you get farther in BUT faction specific is seasonal. That being said its some of the best I've seen and your warhammer fantasy can be released.

-PvE and PvP are good and classes are fun BUT locked a class per mission is weird, vanguard squads exist but we can only have one? If its for PvP balance leave it in PvP and let us do our own PvE setups

all the critiques are minor compared to the fun and experience I've had so far. Can't get enough of the game currently.

EDIT:

If you want a power fantasy this ain't it chief IVE NEVER HEARD of SONIC THE HEDGEHOG ROLLING MARINES but ♥♥♥♥ me thats all you do in the harder difficulty.

balance the game and I'll return it to positive again.

GET GUD is true if you dodge fast then win I have unlocked far enough in the game to know.

I'm a Arma/Tarkov/Squad player.

This game like marauders is a take on a more casual Tarkov'esk shooter.
I like the environment and the style of the game. The factions are interesting, the guns seem cool and diverse, but I have quite a few problems with the game.

Sounds:
The soundscape is beautiful and awful at the same time, causing me to not like it overall.
heres a few examples

the rocks around you and gravel areas are louder than any other sound in the game. and swiveling sounds like someone kicked a bundle of stones down a hill.

Bushes rustling if you so dare to beathe

space ships shooting at other ships in space is also LOUDER than most the game which throws off your awareness but it is cool for atmosphere, games like this don't need extra sounds like that. You don't hear distant artillery or rounds going off in tarkov that isnt player or AI.

FOOTSTEPS, always an issue in games.
Tarkov - dynamic footsteps through floors and walls has always been bad
marauders - everything sounds like a a bioshock daddy walking
Cycle - You can't hear them at all or you hear them 50m away sprinting.

I've caught a team offguard because i heard them sprinting so far away but someone just walking i couldnt here through a hallway at water treatment, but my feet are clunking.

Combat Systems:

Its alright, its a "rarity is better" based game so take it as you will, if you find shiny your just better and you can use real money to "get items lost" when you die. So if you lose something really good you could have just paid some money and get a copy of it so you've lost nothing when you die.

Clunky in my opinion but im not end game

Movement Systems:
I thought Marauders was clunky,
Tarkov inertia was the game ending event for chads
BUT CYCLE
I dislike the movement and climbing, its not flushed out enough. the elements that you can climb can also not be climbable depending on where your character looks on the rock. so lets say you want to climb a rock but you look alittle high, you'll just waste stamina. Then theres rocks and other items to climb that are near the same height but you can't climb them because of 1cm.

The amount of areas where your character can get stuck either climb lagging or just stuck in general is irritating, its just not fluent enough, and overall you will get stuck not climbing more often than climbing up an object.

Jumping over obstacles is also iffy.

Progression Systems:

Overall pretty good, I do like the progression and faction bounties in the game.

END POINT OPINION [TL:DR]

I think this game needs quite a bit more work. I believe some systems need to be redesigned and/or developed better. The dev team is on the right path but between buggy and jank movement and issues with environment and soundscape, I can't recommend the game. Is it fun? kind of? but overall more irritating.

I played a match, ONLY ONE and felt like this game needs more time and re-evaluation with some basic mechanics.
For one the sound system needs major improvement.
the gunplay is lax and like siege where its a laser.
the tutorial feels like CoD where its like ok run shoot head done. doesn't explain the actual gameplay enough.

but the game could turnout well if they put polish and enhance basic mechanics that shooters have.

This game brings a huge excitement to the world of mystery noire style games. It composes great dialogue with choices that actually direct the experience in the game and affect the events within it. The art style is a fantastic look at classic style depressed dystopia feel. The music enhances the overall feel of the game without being too much. Mechanics are simple and nicely put. It puts you in a place where you actually want to know more and figure out whats really going on, there is no slow pace re-accuring grind. Overall I'm very excited to see where the full release takes the story and how I'm going to screw up every dialogue option on the way :D

I grew up with Age of Empires and many other RTS games so you C O U L D take this as a "biased post" but in reality I'm just quite happy with this updated release. The new visual design is beautiful and my computer still barely takes a hit. Modding community can make this game insane and custom AI is just another thing I'm getting into.

I will say the new AI is kinda pathetic unless its hardest/extreme but I've been playing with friends more than AI.

The game still has its beautiful basic rts touches from the past and its quite addicting.

I haven't ran into bugs so far except today my game is crashing at the mod screen but that might be on my side anyways.

tl;dr
- game still is good even though its old af just shinier
- content in the game from the past is all free so right now theres no dlc
- very enjoyable with friends and family
- easy to get into at all ages

My personal opinion of this game took a bit of thinking and I shall put the pros and cons as seen.

Pros:
1. Game has a great new feel of team based pvpve
2. The Developers are hard at work all the time, not always great at communication but they do see what we say and take it to account in updates. Currently fixing the balancing in the game.
3. The game art design is beautiful
4. Gameplay is fun, and if your a fan of grind its a blast haha, not to mention the pvp is fun too.
5. Great content for an alpha game!
cons:
1. Game is still alpha so it isn't perfect! Still has many bugs but honestly you can live with them if your not fussy.
2. Small playerbase. Many players are waiting for the future of the game to come back due to balancing hence why the dev team is working hard to fix bugs and balancing before releasing newer content.
3. Currently getting the game for $30 is alittle steep in my opinion, I would say getting 15 is a great price and 20 being fair.
I honestly can't stop playing it. I really enjoy it and wish other players would give it a chance, and I hope that old players return with the new updates coming this winter!

Rate 8/10
