all the guns do _so_ little damage and the two default game modes reward playing defensively/passively way too much. i don't really get what the appeal of this game is over pretty much any other available shooter.

the main antagonist of this game is the inventory system.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you will spend so much time wasting ammo/healing items/etc or going back to save points to drop off key items or things to free up inventory space.

you can only dispose of extra ammo. if you want to get rid of a healing item you either have to run to a save spot to drop it off or use it (you cannot use them at full health). if you have the correct healing items you can combine them which may free up space depending on whats in your inventory. the consumable taser _cannot be thrown away_ so you have to go find an enemy to use it on then walk back to where you are. i simply stopped picking up healing items, consumables, and ammo for weapons besides the one i was using to have more inventory space in case i found key items.

that being said, the setting is great, i feel like i _should_ like the plot, but there is very little character development, so it's pretty difficult to actually care about developments. the only instances of character development that make you feel for the characters doesn't happen until about half way through the game which is a super weird choice.

i feel like this game would be way more enjoyable watch than actually play, which feels very weird to say.

minor complaints:

there's some weird padding in the first part of the game? like there's literally a key that opens a box in a previous area that literally just has a different key in it. like there's no new areas or enemies or puzzles--you just backtrack, open the thing, go on your way. postbox key

also the flashlight and camera eye should be upgrades like the radio and not take up inventory space.

playing this game makes other shooters less fun

game is dope, and they keep adding new content

the rollback implementation has bad sync issues. some matches just have constant skipping forward and backwards in time making it incredibly unpleasant to play. I'll change my review if/when they fix this.

spooky, stealthy L4D

it won't stop crashing. if i get lucky i can play for like an hour before the next crash. turning all the graphics settings off that you can helps but doesn't prevent it out right.
