I don't really know what I'm doing but I enjoy it.

I haven't played too much yet but from the little I have experienced it is definitely looking like it's going to be an amazing game. As mentioned in other reviews it does have technical issues. I do believe FromSoftware will fix them but it's something to consider.

Specs: Ryzen 7 5800x, 32 GB RAM, 3080 ti.

It MOSTLY runs fine for me, there were frame drops during my tree sentinel boss fight, I changed it from fullscreen to borderless and it went from freezing to just frame drops. Maybe it's just a random coincidence but it hasn't been unplayable. I'm still going to give it a recommend because I believe fromsoftware will fix it. My small bit of experience so far has been fair. Hopefully they are able to quickly patch it out and make it the seemingly amazing experience it should be.

edit: I have found less technical issues as I've played a bit more.

First off, I will preface this with the fact that I didn't want to give this game a chance due to it being an MMORPG. Games that fall under this category often tend to be what I would describe as a game without a soul. It's sole purpose is to ultimately have you grind and use up a lot of your time. Maybe you enjoy the grind, I'm sure there are people out there who genuinely do.

Second, I didn't find the story necessarily uninteresting but even if it was a super well crafted story, everything around it was average at best. I did find the game play more engaging then I thought I would but the level 1 to 50 grind quickly got boring to me. Sure, I bought the starter founders pack but if the game being good requires you skipping the first 50 levels or what might equate to at least 20 hours of game play then the game probably isn't good. The quests are essentially go kill this or go fetch that. I did find the dungeons a lot more interesting but after doing just a few and seeing how little they actually offer I was underwhelmed.

Next, on a more positive note. Maybe this is YOUR type of game. I'm sure there's a part of the Lost Ark community that is enjoyable but I personally don't enjoy games that feel like I'm actually in a coal mine, mining. Stupid, but it's just simply so boring to me. Playing with a friend kind of helped but it only made me realize more how much of an empty feeling I got from playing this game.

That aside, this could be your game if you enjoy other games like this already but it doesn't do too much different to set itself apart. It does have a strong loyal fan base so if a sense of community and group play is what you're after, this might be it. For me personally, there's a lot of games that I rather play (or you should even rather play). RPGs included but I just find this to be a mediocre game that's created to just waste time and encourage the desire to spend money.

TL:DR Maybe you will enjoy this if you already like games like this but it's nothing revolutionary and average at best.
