my eyes bleed when dashing

My first experience is like any other thats reporting it. The server queue is awful so I instantly refunded. It wont get my money until I can play when I want to play.

While it still has some issues (severe fps drops, no mounts, no "bard" class with movement speed buff system) I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Great community as well!

Better than outriders and most other releases recently for cheaper than those aforementioned. You like Aliens? buy it. You like left 4 dead? buy it. You like shooting things? buy it. You like rpg mechanics and unlockables? buy it. You like food? buy it.

Its okay. Its short right now but it be expected for early access. Devs are always working on updates and content which is great and the class variety seems nice with each class able to go into 3 specializations (some work in progress). Graphics are great, spell animations are great and the combat feels good. I'm happy they added animation cancellation. It's very linear with its progress from story to end game which is fine for now. I'm sure it will continue to get fleshed out with side quests or places to explore. I want to see them add something like d3 goblins where they're semi rare, but you feel the dopamine when you see one and kill it.... but when you see a horde of them the adrenaline kicks in.

I think the key word is adrenaline. I think that lack of adrenaline moments made me fall out of the game. It's a very okay game.

update 4/3/23 - The game is vastly improved on all fronts. New UI for conversations, animations are a nice add, some new sub classes, overall performance updates but most importantly the introduction of multiplayer. While I have not had the opportunity to test multiplayer, the option is finally there. I'm also pretty excited about the APM, depending on your build. I decided to try a druid and I'm switching between different forms, keeping my buffs up and each time I switch theres a new hot bar of new skills and I enjoy how base skills in human form intertwine with the animal forms. I'm not one for druids, but after the d4 druid I wanted to give it a shot and its been a good time. I'm pleased with learning my errors as the game is forgiving with correcting them and the game makes you think of your build and actions instead of being mindless by pushing 1 button. I'm excited to see where this brand goes and depending on end game this could be an easy contender for diablo 4.

I wrote this review because I'm passionate about this genre... BUT HOLY BALLS has this been atrocious. 4/1/21 Game Launch DateWhen you can play the game its pretty awesome. It's crazy that the normal today is to not have a proper launch. I was playing it fine when it launched (it launched late) today, but now that more people are trying to get on at 8:30pm the game wont get past authenticating. W/o research I'm assuming their PR speak will be regarding server stability and not being prepared for the overwhelming number of simultaneous logons. I expected better especially from a company that has money and it's simply unacceptable to have these concerns with every major release and I consider this game a major release. I'll change the review later, but sending this message out now to let people be aware.Update (morning) 4/2/21I logged on early in the morning to play a new character. I did the side quest for Mr Chang and it froze when I had my 3 weapons to choose from. After that I spent the next 30 minutes relaunching the game only to sit through a long unskippable opening laggy cinematic followed by a black screen with unreal engine crashes. I spent the next 30 minutes reinstalling. Yes! I'm in! or so I thought. It was false hope as it cashed again once I chose my reward. Fun Fact, happens on both Direct X 12 and 11. I can never complete that quest therefore I can no longer buy weapons from her.Update 4/2/21 afternoonI was checking to see if I could complete the quest yet, but it still crashes the game. I seem to have triggered the problem I was having earlier as now my game continues to crash on launch.Another update (2 hours later) 4/2/21Been stuck at authenticating unable to sign in. They're aware of the server issues and its been a few hours.Update night (9:30pm) 4/2Finally I'm in and I join my friends and I was able to turn in my quest for Mr Chang! We start playing, did one mission then cannot connect to outrider servers. 3 attempts to rejoin my friends then get kicked off again for connection issues. Update 4/3/21I've come to the realization that the pre-order equipment is locked and cannot be sold or dismantled with no way of unlocking it thus you need to either A) put it in your stash which takes up stash room (100 max) or B) I haven't tested this theory but I assume it would work - Create a new character, transfer that crap on there then delete the character. This appears to be an in season April fools joke.Update 5/2/21Been playing a lot and completed everything the game has to offer. I see no point in playing any further and its really not worth it. If this game was 30$, go for it.Update 5/20/21I decided to hop back on and play some more because there's 1 piece of gear I wanted. I hop on with my pyromancer and join a random party to do some tier 15s. It was tough, I was pretty much carrying the two other people to the end and about 13 minute in we get to the final boss. We do some emotes to celebrate and right before we the kill the boss I get kicked from the group and get nothing. I cried and jumped on dark souls as a blue sentinel after to exact my revenge.Update 5/23/21Decided to play again because bored.The biggest problem still exists. I love PvE games. I love the grind, I love the loot, I love the aesthetics and I really love the feel of the power creep...HOWEVER... LAG should not be an enemy and this LAG boss battle is the most vile, disgusting, rage inducing super saiyan over 9000 mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ boss of them all.♥♥♥♥ this game.Update sometime during 7/5-7/10.Reinstalled to test out the legendary drops and if I read correctly duplicate rerolling (one reroll chance?) 3 lava duplicate gloves dropped. Uninstalled.Update 3/24/23 - It still sucks and just as laggy

Great game, updates are often. Most games at $40+ are not as good as this, especially today... (outriders, dark alliance, etc)

I dont know if this is just me, but the damage numbers show up before attacks make contact... its a small thing but it was enough for me to say no to this game.

It just gets better and better.

they fixed the fps issue with screen tearing.
