Every aspect of this game is almost acceptable. The combat has great ideas, but fails to be fun or consistent. The art is appealing in its own way, but reeks of amatuer. The world is enormous, and empty of anything that makes me want to keep playing. Would play more for a better review, but sadly I would rather get my 2 bucks back.

My hours are not accurate.

Overgrowth has an odd mix of wonderful strengths and crippling weaknesses.

+ Parkour is fun, and you jump really high. This includes relatively realistic wall running, ledge grabbing, wall hopping.
+ Combat is intense, and in fair fights with other rabbits there are a large variety of moves and counters you can make.
+ Stealth and the ability to hide bodies in bushes is fun like in hitman.
+ The engine, the main thing devs worked on, is amazing, and can easily be modded to make way more interesting games than the included campaign.

- Parkour can be finicky on slanted or irregular surfaces. Turn off auto ledge grab or be prepared to be confused.
- Combat degrades into a single jump kick that can always, and must be used once you fight some larger enemies. These new enemies are interesting, have differential qualities, but cannot be stealth killed, countered, or even effectively rolled away from, degrading combat into a safer but less satisfactory run, jump, and kick fest. Since the counters you use look like Judo moves, the larger enemies should be knocked off balance as well, but it is not the case.
- Stealth could be more dynamic, as all areas in the campaigns are quite open, only a few allow interesting thought put into how to stealth through them. Enemies pull a short distance of friends to help them, and cannot lose your trail, so once you are seen, stealth is done.
- Both campaigns can be beaten within a few hours.
- The writing is not professional. Think Rambo style character, that moves throughout the world, making a few allies as he kills all the bad guys, never feeling that any of them are a threat to him because he is so badass. Unlike Rambo no time is even spent developing his character. He is a one dimensional character in a flat world.

If you played Lugaru, you will be prepared for the interesting engine, paired with the lackluster writing, and short game. This is more of the same, but with a vastly improved, easily moddable engine, with a great deal of potential, and more interesting parkour levels.

I do not recommend paying full price, especially if you are buying it without intention to mod or play multiplayer, there is $5 - $10 worth of singleplayer content included ATM.

Overall I still recommend this game if it is on a good sale, and if you plan to download or create mods. It has great potential as an engine to make an amazing stealth, parkour, fighting game. The in game campaigns are not terrible, but certainly not great at achieving this either .

Best party video game ever, unless you, and your friends and family, are slow and stupid, then it would be lame. Quick observation, intelligence, and especially communication are key to disarming bombs while your friends read the manual to disarming it. Works great in controller VR or just on an old laptop.

Amazing!

I will preface this with a message for anyone before they buy this game though.
DO NOT BUY IF ANY OF THESE APPLY TO YOU!

1. You do not like difficult games.
2. You think roguelike and permadeath mean the same thing.
3. You hate timing-animation based attacks with longer resets. eg Dark Souls
4. You expect every game to be like an mmorpg where the difficulty curves exactly according to math.
5. Frustration at failure makes you want to quit instead of try harder.
6. The top of your list of qualifications for games you buy begins with "Graphics."

Nothing against these people, but if these apply to you you likely will dislike this game.

Unexplored is a lovely real-time pausable Roguelike dungeon crawler.
The game has many game modes, some unlockable classes, and tons of variably generated content.
The dungeons are really interesting and procedurally made with unique puzzles, varied enemies, unique and magical items, and explorer notes used to figure out puzzles and hints throughout the game keep you engaged and paying attention.
The procedural generation is the best I have seen. Areas are unique, and you need to use that to do well, and be prepared for anything.
The combat is a fun skill based timing system with damage types, and even passive damage from making your weapon contact enemies without swinging them.
The UI is pretty clean, and it is easy to tell what things are, and what is going on.

The elements of this game come together to make something really wonderful but hard to express.
It is simple to get into, but hard to master, and the entire game is replete with charm and character.

If it had more than one save slot, my playtime would be multiplied by the number of save slots.

This is an excellent ARPG where you can grab onto larger enemies and ride them.
Overall its far from a perfect game, but is still a beautiful masterpiece in my top 5 list of games.

Liked if: You enjoy monsters, epic over the top combat/magic, leveling, and managing a small party.

Disliked if: You only like really well written stories in your games.

The Castlevania series has long ago forgotten what it is, but hope returns to the genre with this Dark Souls inspired Masterpiece!

Pros
+Awesome combat. (You commit to attacks and then they happen like Dark Souls. Not everyone likes this, but I LOVE it.)
+Hack and slash that requires thinking and timing.
+A great many items, weapons both ranged and melee, shields, spells, and ways to play.
+Platforming and puzzles.
+Large mazelike world wrapping around back into itself with shortcuts.
+Many varied enemies and bosses with entirely different animations, attacks, and personality.
+Filled with great art, except the character face looks like generic flash game man.
+Interesting characters, vague plot, it is basically Dark Souls Castlevania style.
+Wall jumps, dashes, Castlevania style abilities.
+Build your own religious base style save points that de-buff the area.
+Local co-op.

Cons
-Wander lost for hours without using the wiki.
-No online co-op. PLEASE ADD, PLEASE, PLEASE!
-Falling to your death is very common, lol.

TLDR
Wonderful game, only for people that like Dark Souls and Castlevania games. ADD ONLINE CO-OP PLEASE!

Pros
+Works as a mouse.
+You can play any game with a controller.
+Works well as a pc tv remote.
+long battery life.
+Many buttons.

Cons
-Almost all functions require steam to be on and in big picture mode.
-The left pad camera stick mode does not work like a stick at all. (is the same as mouse mode just slower)
-Steam randomly doesn't remember my settings for the controller.
-Windows UAC does not let you use the controller to allow changes to your system.
-Feels like cheap plastic
-Uses batteries.
-Software is still in beta.

The Steam Controller is a great item if you want to play games with a mouse on your couch with your computer or steam link. It does a lot of things well and I am glad I have it. It has a lot of issues with requiring Steam to function, making it a pain in the ass sometimes. Steam has a long way to go to fully support everything it is capable of, but at the moment it works as the one thing your Xbox controller can't do. I recommend using your usual controller for some games still, but this is still a nice addition if you want it.

TL:DR Use this for mouse games on your couch, but still use your old controler for some games where double sticks are preferred
