Gameplay was too light, but if you want to go on playdates with Marvel's heroes, this is for you.

Might be the best game ever. I might just be a masochist.

Its OK. I get nothing from chest opening dopamine games, and the random skills in them are the same as leveling. Everything is just patterns on timers. Its fine, but not something I'll ever get to push to the top of my play next list. I thought about refunding, but honestly, a game that scratches the itch of people that love micro-transactional loot-box games without being manipulative, evil, and greedy can keep my $3, and get a positive, but honest opinion/review.

The only redeeming quality that pushed me to finish the campaign was co-op. The game gets so close to being fun, but ultimately becomes a slog to play, with endgame culminating in enemies that require thousands of bullets to kill, just to get rewards half as good as what you already have. It has its fun moments, cool abilities you can use a few at a time, and OK playtime if you don't count time spent just filling one guy with all the bullets you can carry in three ammo chest reloads. The cutscenes are either short, but not short enough transitions that start out funny, but continue past the point where I'm amused, ♥♥♥♥ measuring sessions where two characters growl at eachother, or shooting yet another kneeling a guy in the head. There are only a few enemy types, with difficulty being added both in damage and vast amounts of health.

After 60 hours in game, and 30 in queue, recommend it, but would like to see an awful lot of it change. The devs put a lot of effort into systems that are designed to inconvenience, make you mad, and inspire hatred for your fellow humans, but most of these could be fixed just by removing a feature.
+ Combat has a nice skill based dodge and accuracy for an MMO.
+ Dungeons are fun, and some loot has interesting qualities.
+ It has beautiful graphics.
- Gathered resources are not usable more than once, making you fight strangers and teammates to gain crafting materials and levels.
- There is no quest sharing, and playing most parts outside of pvp and dungeons pushes players to solo.
- Training multiple weapons is discouraged with both weapon leveling, and having to pay to respec.
- Some quests call for you to kill and skin an animal. Good luck being the one to skin it on this 5 min respawn timer. while racing against everyone else trying to be the first one to skin it for that quest.
- Banked inventory is not shared in towns, and fills fast.
- Dungeon loot is mostly unsharable trash. You cannot roll need or greed, or even sell it.
- Weapons and stats chosen on leveling are a little too simple, and rely on a few inconvenient synergies that do not exist for a reason I can see clearly other than flavor.
- So much running. Even with teleporters, expect at least a mile of running for each quest done.
- Amazon is involved.

Pistol whip is great exercise. Coming from someone who got in shape on Beat Saber, this is better.
The songs of 1.0 were a mix of good and terrible IMHO, but it was still great fun and got me sweating without thinking about it.
With the campaigns and better music selection added, this game is well worth the price, and I hope to see more from it.
I lay awake at night dreading if it ever gets sold to facebook.

Got it as a package with my video card a long time ago, and it was very boring.

The game is fun, but still glitchy. The experience is best played in VR with two or three friends. It gets patched regularly, but some glitches are often enough that we can guess what mechanics broke in order to identify the ghost. I would love to see more mechanics added, and the option to jog while creating more noise and sanity loss or something, once the game works as intended all the time.

I spend 90% of my time playing on the Switch nowadays, so I'm reviewing it from there, where I have done many heat runs, and am getting close to collecting and completing everything in the game over many hours there. This game is just so good, I have to review it. It has amazing artwork. There is a fun game-play loop that varies a lot between runs based on heat modifiers, weapons and their aspects, boons acquired, rooms found, etc. The progression elements are also a myriad of buffs, trinkets, and pets that are gained from both playtime and interactions with characters. This is where the game really shines. The character interactions are wonderful, I have never played a game where I didn't want to skip dialogue before. There are a lot of unique characters (which I'm sure will upset some incels) which makes them all interesting while making them all still relatable. This game is a must buy.

Devs took my advice, I am preserving my negative review below, but am changing my review to positive until I play enough to make a new review.

I hope my feedback is constructive, and though its pretty negative, know that its only because I see so much potential in this game, and did have slightly more fun than I had frustration. Every update adds a bad idea because of a commitment to keep old bad ideas. The game has great potential, and is a fun concept, but developer judgement thus far is leading me to give up hope for the game ever improving for now. The game requires notoriety (keeping the same party for several hours of play for good loot) This is a bad idea. They made it so more difficulties are available to get better loot, but even on impossible the game is easy and gives loot that is crap for my level. They got rid of knowing what tier of loot you would get after spending half an hour playing, bad idea. Then they added bots, so the dwindling player base could find a party, or make a party that didn't leave and reset the stupid notoriety idea, but guess what, it includes a terrible idea, bots leave the party and reset notoriety after every level, making them useless. Bad ideas compound upon each other out of some weird blinding hubris keeping them from throwing it out that I cannot understand. Think things through with your games, and throw out trash ideas if you cannot fix them. Adding more characters with samey skills isn't drawing anyone back in. Fix the game's basic poorly thought out elements (especially notoriety, burn this horrible idea in a fire) and maybe I'll want to play it again someday.
