not worth the money there are far better survival games for much less money and even if you played all of them this still wouldn't be worth what they are asking.

with the inclusion of the unreal punishment that is hard mode which throws any game balance and scaling out the window I won't recommend this.

Purchased this because it promised a single player experience their latest update has added content that they even admit will require most players to have a group so not the game they sold to me as a solo player would stay away from this title unless you have friends that are playing or there will be content and items that you just don't have access to.

In short devs have already begun to punish solo players and it looks like that is something they are very excited about. There is important content/rewards now locked behind multiplayer something that was never advertised by the devs.

Edit (since I got completely s*$% on in the steam forums I'm not talking about the first biome where you are facing only level 10 enemies I'm talking about the end game content that is now not doable as a solo player even the devs have said as much they recommend bringing friends and that is my problem the game is already losing accessibility for solo players.)

Frequent crashes with an unreal error that just says fatal error no codes or anything, it's the only game in my library I've seen this error on and it can occur after a few minutes to a few hours making the game unplayable.

One hit in the first map took 68 health and 32 armor, the game is inconsistent at best in all regards.

cannot recommend this game. the balance is horrible and the dev basically replies to any comments about the difficulty, balance, or classes that basically contradict the intended play-style of the game with 'get good' then even comments how other players besides themselves have made insane hard runs basically everything they can other than actually make the game accessible. comments in discussion have died off because of this tact which has left virtually no discussion on the topic there is one fanboy left stroking the devs ego that's about it. every patch comes with broken promises and further broken game features with the dev saying 'i know i know it's in the next update' which comes with only half the promises and breaking more core gameplay.

*update* as expected the dev has abandoned the game it is not currently receiving any updates so really don't buy this.

*/edit* the dev updated making unlocking knights quicker and increased the stats of each upgrade however they didn't change the drop rate for meta currency so you still wind up with a few gold and crystals at the end of a run not barley enough to upgrade anything. The balance is horrible and there is really only one weapon worth using after that everything else is kind of trash. The whole experience gets very boring and grindy very quickly there is also no customization to your charterer which seems like a miss. This game is not even close to the quality they are selling it for. I hope the dev will continue but honestly it needs a lot of work before i could ever recommend this to anyone.

This game looks nice but the pros don't outweigh the cons despite what some 'paid' reviews say because I can't see how an honest person who wasn't paid for a review can say that the meta progression is bad and unlocks for new knights is horrible but still recommend it as a buy then you see they received the product for free and a link to their youtube channel.

Don't listen to these paid for positive reviews here that say this is a buy even with bad meta progression, it makes this game not even worth playing in addition you will get hit even when you're not supposed to for example being outside of an area of effect but still taking damage. To put it in idiot terms (for people like myself) you stand outside of the "red" and still get hit.

I played too long to refund and regret it I was stupid and listened to youtubers who said they thought the game was still a great buy despite it's flawed meta progression i will tell you anyone saying that about this game was paid and has zero integrity.

Just play the demo the progress you make there will be your progress in the full game for at-least 8 hours. I bought Ember Knights after this and played that for the rest of the day loving it which only highlighted for me just how bad this game is. I made more progress in two runs of Ember Knights than I did in 4 or 5 hours playing Knight vs Giant.

The game has a ton of charm and could be a lot of fun but just not how it is. If the devs fix the meta progression, some balance tweaks, and fix the taking damage even when you are on the outside of a large area of effect this game could be a very solid game more worth the price which is a too high for the game you get right now.

I'll update my review if/when the devs release a patch or update.

just might be the most overrated game i've played.
