This game is so much fun but the bugs kill it for me.

There are three big ones. The first 2 are:
- Menuing doesn't work half the time. You have to back out and go back into the menu to fix this.
- Interacting is the same deal. You're next to the gate or something to harvest, you have the prompt, but pressing the
button does nothing. So you have to back away and then try again.
Now those two are fine and while I expect them to be fixed, its not worth whining about themselves.
The third bug is when your character suddenly cant walk. This has killed two runs for me now, because the only way to fix it is to roll my way to the bi-frost and start again. When you're super close to being able to win, but can't because the game decides it doesn't work, that's when it's unacceptable.

If this was still beta, then sure. But it's full release. They're even on 1.03.
If you're on the fence for buying this game, keep it on the wishlist, but wait for them to actually get to state worthy a full release, not a beta.

To start, this is a game you will either love or hate.

There are a lot of negative reviews saying this game is too hard so it's a bad game. However difficulty doesn't mean a game is bad. If you're looking for a game you can auto win by going through the motions, then this game is not for you. If you want to be do well in For The King, you'll need to manage time and resouces, make difficult choices, and coordinate your characters properly in order to win fights and progress. You're not guaranteed to do well, and that's fine. It creates tension. I don't know if I'm going to do well on a run, but when I do, it's so much more satisfying. You get out what you put in, and if you put nothing in, that's on you, not the game.

Now, if this still sounds like a game you'd be interested in, here's an actual pro's and cons list from a person who read the game's opening message.

Pros:
- Super fun to play with friends. The amount of laughs I've gotten out of critical fails and unlikely perfects to turn lost fights is worth the price of this game alone.
- It's still fun to play alone. Classic turn based combat with a personally crafted team and some table top flair.
- The focus system. The RNG adds tension and can lead to some exciting moments. The focus system gives some control to the player without taking any of that away.
- Replayability. There's a lot here. 6 Scenarios with 4 being full campaigns. Unlockables in the lore store that can spice up your next run and allow you to go even farther but don't take away from the challenge. The difficulty itself will have you restarting a few times, but that's part of the experience. You learn your lessons and do better next time.

Cons:
- Overworld turn management/movement. This can be slow and tedious. You get faster at it as you learn, but when an objective appears that requires you to run all the way across the map, it can be annoying moving all your characters one by one. Couple this with the storm debuff, bad rolls, and/or mob spawns getting in your way, and it can get frustrating.
- Enemy scaling. There are times where I feel like enemies just scaled little too hard, and that there was nothing I could do to prepare my characters. This hasn't happened too often, and only occurs on certain enemies. I don't feel like it's a huge deal, however, as much as I've praised this game for being difficult, I don't like situations that are impossible to prepare for or deal with.

Overall, if you like the feel of DnD, if you want an actual challenge, or if you want to have a night of bong over teamwork and laughter with two good buddies, get this game. Just don't bash it becuase you didn't try.

Just a ton of fun all the time. You have to be able to set your own goals, but the grind isn't bad especially if you like shooters.
