If you enjoyed the first Blasphemous, chances are you'll enjoy this one as well. Conversely, if you haven't played the first, I'd recommend starting there; it's a truly fantastic game, and B2 is really just more of the same (and the sequel picks up after B1's 'good' ending, for what that's worth... the story's kinda bonkers lol).

I'm absolutely loving this sequel, and while it does have a few faults (some reused assets from the first game, animated cutscenes that -- while cool -- don't match the pixel art aesthetic like the first one did, etc.), getting another heaping helping of the same devilishly-good artwork and rock-solid gameplay we know and love from B1 more than makes up for them.

TL;DR: If you're fan of Metroidvanias, pixel art, gothic aesthetics, overwrought dialog, and/or dying in spike pits, this is your game! (Just play B1 first if you haven't, it's great.)

Anyone that enjoys the 'Metroidvania' style of game should play this. The graphics and animation are wonderful, the gameplay is satisfying, and there are jokes and pop-/geek-culture references abound.
