I would recommend this game to everyone.

There is a lot of content in Fallout 4 for everyone to enjoy. Even if you come from the old games expecting more from the dialogue choices and consequences from your actions you can't deny it's still a decent game.

1 thing that I do like is when you select to load a game you have the option to chose what character which, for me makes playing multiple characters more viable. (Only because if you have a lot of mods installed you will be saving every 10 minutes incase of crashing)

That being said I find that the Elder Scrolls and the Fallout series are best known for the modding community behind it. There is a bit of drama going on inside the modding community at the moment since the launch of the console mods. If you want to know more about the drama I suggest googling it because I'm not going to discuss it here.

Speaking of mods, they do add a lot of replay-ability to the game. But they've decided to make achievements unobtainable if you play with mods, there is a mod out there which disables this feature. But for me I think its a good thing as it makes you have to play through the vanilla experiance at least once, which can make you appriciate the mods and the vanilla game more.

I've stated above there is a lot of content in the base game already, especially if you have purchased the DLC's. This feature in the game is something you can't avoid im afriad. In the main story quest you need to build something and you also need to do the same in the Automatron DLC. I cannot say for the others because I haven't had the time to play them. Whilst the system could be improved you can spend a lot of time building up settlements, although I use them as outposts. You can link settlements together to share resources for crafting, this doesn't sound like much until you learn that survival mode doesn't allow fast travel. Meaning having linked settlements to upgrade and craft armour and weapons is a huge timesaver than walking back to sanctuary.

Speaking of armour and weapons, there are a fair number of each. Armour pieces change visualy depending on the mod you give them which is a nice touch. Makes you wonder why they didn't do that for the outfit itself but I'm sure there will be a mod for that sooner or later. One thing I am disapointed though with the weapons is there is only 2 shotguns! A double barrel and a semi auto one, where's the pump action? If you're upset that theres no full-auto shotgun, don't worry you can mod the semi-auto shotgun into one! :) or make a laser shotgun...

If you plan on buying this game just do it. In my opinion its worth it and so is the DLC, although I would retain from buying the workshop expansions until you know for sure you like the settlement building aspect of the game. Otherwise you're paying for DLC you will never use. I find this game is greatly improved when you start adding mods, if you look to Skyrim now and see what the modding community has become I believe that Fallout 4 will probably be a staple in gaming for a few years yet. At least until the next Elder Scrolls game where every fanboy will loose their ♥♥♥♥.

Perseverance is key to play this game, you will die countless times. If you rage quite easily then this is not a game for you. But if you like a hidden story and trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together, whilst dying, this is a game for you.
