This game, in a lot of ways, is an improvement over the first Spider-Man remastered game. The combat is a lot of fun here, stealth is also nice. The way currency & upgrades/outfit mods work is better here. Just a lot of stuff in this game feels/plays better.

However, one drawback that really threw the immersion from this game for me was just how glitchy/buggy this game is in comparison to the first. As I was progressing through the game, towards the end, the game got buggier & buggier, in more ways than one (like missing textures, glitchy textures, controller infinite shaking, sound infinite looping, etc.). When I beat the game, the ending was sort of ruined for me because I had a glitch where the final boss music did not stop even after beating the final boss, so it merged into everything else that happened after the boss until I saved & reset the game. Also during that final encounter, during cutscenes, a lot of clipping into walls or other places where we shouldn't have been was occuring.

At its current state, just expect it to be a lot more buggier than the first game if you do dive in. I did not have nearly this amount of bugs in the first game. Matter of fact, the first game was almost bug free, save for enemies glitching in walls. But that was the only extent to it. It was not nearly as numerous as it is here.

I loved this game, but maybe wait until the game goes through more patches before deciding to buy. It is worth a buy, I'll say that much, just hopefully they patch it into a more stable state. I'll give it a recommend because I liked the game, but just be aware of the current downsides as well.

Good game on its own, mods make it even better. This is that one VR game that constantly brings me back whenever I want to vibe to some music. Bonus points for it also being a mini workout that's really fun at the same time.

Early Access Review
Fantastic roguelike & glad to see it'll release on Switch soon enough as well. It's my absolute favorite roguelike out of all the others I own & I've been following it since even before it was released on Steam, when they talked about the game at last year's game awards. It was a day 1 purchase for me.

I just have much love for this game, I very much recommend the game. It's very fun to just sit back, chill, maybe put some Spotify on (after you've heard the soundtracks first) & doing all the deathing to your enemies.

I'd say the game is a 9/10. The FPS and graphics difference is very, VERY much better than the actual Switch version. Seeing it in 60fps, I wondered "This looks smoother than I remember" and then I remembered the Switch runs in 30fps. I'm glad to have the game on both my Switch and PC. I may have got a discount on the game, but even then, I think the $60 is well worth it if you are purchasing it full price.

I noticed for my laptop, when it's connected to an external monitor, everything is rock solid, everything works perfectly fine. When I'm using my laptop without the external monitors, everything works fine...except one thing. No matter what I do, there's no sound whatsoever. I tried Googling the issue, but it seems no one else is even having this issue in the first place, or at least are not vocal about it. Otherwise, I'd give the game a 10/10. Don't understand what could be doing it. Literally any other program with sound works no problem, except Octopath. And restarts don't fix it.

I usually don't review products, but this game is just gold. It's a must buy and it'll keep you reeled in for hours. If you previously played it on PS2 or even the PS4, the 60fps makes this game look so smooth and just everything about the PC version is top notch. I recommend this to every RPG fan!
